Great Britain\u2019s Lady Carbisdale knows a thing or two about reinvention \u2014 and now the barrister is offering the use of her castle in the Scottish Highlands to Prince Andrew as the royal outcast suffers more reputation-wrecking fallout from his links to dead pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n

The legal eagle, who\u2019s also known as Samantha Kane, exclusively tells Globe, \u201cI\u2019ve defended many people \u2026 and I always have this presumption of innocence.\u201d<\/p>\n

She says of Andrew, \u201cEverybody is treating him like he\u2019s some sort of convicted criminal, which, of course, he is not.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Globe readers know, the 65-year-old prince was stripped of his palace duties and paycheck in 2022 by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth, after being sued by Epstein sex slave Virginia Giuffre, who\u2019d accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was 17. Andrew denied the claims of Giuffre, who supposedly died by suicide at age 41 in April \u2014 but agreed to pay her an estimated $16 million to settle her suit.<\/p>\n

In recent weeks, unearthed emails suggest Andrew \u2014 and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, 66 \u2014 stayed in contact with Epstein after claiming they\u2019d cut ties with the financier, per Daily Mail<\/a>. (Fergie has said she emailed Epstein only to defuse his threat to destroy her family.)<\/p>\n

Andrew has given up use of his Duke of York title amid the ballooning scandal \u2014 and there are calls for him and Fergie to vacate the crown-owned Royal Lodge.<\/p>\n

Samantha, who dubbed herself Lady Carbisdale after buying the Scottish castle in 2022, sees her residence as a potential haven for Andrew and his ex.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think King Charles is under a world of pressure with his brother Prince Andrew, and many are criticizing him for housing him in any of the royal estates,\u201d she says. \u201cI really made the offer as a service to my king and my country.\u201d<\/p>\n

But that kindness has come at a price as Samantha tells Globe she\u2019s received frightening threats.<\/p>\n

She has denounced accusations calling her a \u201cfriend of pedophiles\u201d and emphatically says, \u201cI do not condone any such abuse of children.\u201d She states, \u201cReally, it\u2019s a situation where this demand of punishment, the presumption of guilt by public opinion, is unkind and unfair.\u201d<\/p>\n

She adds, \u201cI\u2019m still writing to King Charles to say my castle is at your service at any time, but I will share my fears with him and let him know about the public backlash. It is very sad.\u201d<\/p>\n
