Daniel Day-Lewis is slamming Brian Cox for the latter\u2019s disparaging comments about method acting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Any time he wants to talk about it, I\u2019m easy to find,\u201d Day-Lewis continued.\u00a0\u201cIf I thought during our work together I\u2019d interfered with his working process, I\u2019d be appalled. But I don\u2019t think it was like that. So I don\u2019t know where the f\u2013k that came from.\u201d<\/p>\n The Post has reached out to Cox for comment.<\/p>\n The Oscar winner is famously a method actor, remaining in character and often going to extreme lengths during filming. It\u2019s a particularly American disease, I think, this inability to separate yourself off while you\u2019re doing the job,\u201d Cox told the New Yorker. \u201cThe result that Jeremy gets is always pretty tremendous. I just worry about what he does to himself. I worry about the crises he puts himself through in order to prepare.\u201d<\/p>\n In a 2021 appearance on \u201cLate Night with Seth Meyers<\/a>,\u201d Cox further said about Strong, \u201cHe does get obsessed with the work. And I worry about what it does to him, because if you can\u2019t separate yourself \u2014 because you\u2019re dealing with all of this material every day. You can\u2019t live in it. But knowing a character and what the character does is only part of the skill set.\u201d<\/p>\n He deadpanned: \u201cIt\u2019s f\u2013king annoying. Don\u2019t get me going on it.\u201d<\/p>\n
