Similar to the first two movies in the franchise, the latest \u201cDune\u201d tentpole filmed a large portion of its scenes in the Arabian desert.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWhen I was doing \u2018Dune\u2019 it was so hot in the desert that I just couldn\u2019t question anything,\u201d Pattinson said. \u201cAnd it was so relaxing, like my brain actually wasn\u2019t operating. I did not have a single functioning brain cell. And I was just listening to Denis [Villeneuve]: \u2018Whatever you want!&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tPattinson\u2019s role in Villeneuve\u2019s third and final \u201cDune\u201d movie remains under wraps. He\u2019s one of the threequel\u2019s most prominent new cast members, along with relative newcomers Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke, who are playing Paul and Chani\u2019s twin children. Returning cast members include Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson and Anya Taylor-Joy. The film is based on Frank Herbert\u2019s second \u201cDune\u201d novel, \u201cDune Messiah.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIt appears that with every \u201cDune\u201d movie, there are countless stories about the actors enduring the scorching heat of the film\u2019s desert locations. Austin Butler, who played the villainous Feyd-Rautha in \u201cDune: Part Two,\u201d once told <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/dune-part-two-timothee-chalamet-zendaya-austin-butler-florence-pugh-cover-story-8584736?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly_ew&amp;utm_source=twitter.com&amp;utm_content=%20link&amp;utm_term=20240220\">Entertainment Weekly<\/a> that heat stroke impacted several people on set during his first week of shooting the sequel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt was 110 degrees and so hot,\u201d Butler said. \u201cI had the bald cap on, and it was between two soundstages that were just these gray boxes of 200-foot walls and sand. It became like a microwave. There were people passing out from heat stroke. And that was just my first week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt really bonds the entire crew,\u201d Butler added. \u201cThere\u2019s something so humbling about being in such an uncomfortable environment.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tZendaya revealed to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wmagazine.com\/culture\/zendaya-challengers-dune-part-two-cover-interview\">W Magazine<\/a> that she suffered heatstroke filming \u201cDune: Part Two\u201d because her costume was so heavy and\u00a0she stopped drinking water on the film\u2019s very hot Jordan desert set.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI had such a fear of peeing myself or shitting myself, honestly, in the suit on set,\u201d she explained, referring to the body armor worn by the Fremen warriors in the movie to help them survive the brutal conditions of the desert. \u201cWe were in Jordan. It was very hot, and I remember thinking, \u2018Oh, man, the bathrooms are so far away,\u2019 because we had to hike to the locations. If you have to pee, you need at least 10 minutes to get out of the costumes. I was like, \u2018Damn, I don\u2019t want to drink too much water.\u2019 One day, I didn\u2019t drink enough and I had a heatstroke. I felt so barfy. I remember calling my mom on the bathroom floor, saying, \u2018I feel terrible.\u2019 She was like, \u2018Did you drink water today?\u2019 I said no. I thought I was being smart, but you can\u2019t do that. So, lesson learned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tNearly all of the \u201cDune\u201d cast had to endure hot temperatures while filming the space epic, which is one reason Villeneuve was grateful he didn\u2019t go the usual Hollywood route and film both \u201cDune\u201d films back-to-back with no break in productions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cBoth movies were made in very harsh conditions, and it\u2019s very physically taxing, so to have a break in between them was a blessing,\u201d Villeneuve told EW. \u201cMy first thought was to shoot both movies back to back together, but now I think I would have died.
