Following their teaser site campaign<\/a>, Slipknot have cracked open the vault for the 25th anniversary of their 1999 self-titled debut, revealing a mammoth new box set<\/a> spearheaded by M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan. The set\u2014pressed on “blood-filled” vinyl\u2014is limited to just 100 copies worldwide and reportedly sold out instantly at $250 a pop.<\/p>\n

Clocking in with 59 tracks total, the release digs deep into the band’s early days, including rare Indigo Ranch demos produced by Ross Robinson, alternate mixes, live cuts, and 40 previously unreleased recordings. Though Roadrunner Records had previously issued expanded editions, this new set was curated entirely by Clown, now dubbed the band’s “caretaker.”<\/p>\n

The band’s breakout album\u2014which went gold in early 2000, platinum by May, and now sits at 2x platinum\u2014was commemorated heavily last year with a full 25th anniversary tour.<\/p>\n
