Former Jets teammates joined over 400 mourners to honor the life and legacy of beloved center Nick Mangold<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The funeral service was held at St. Vincent Martyr in Madison, N.J., and was livestreamed on the church\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

In a somber scene, former head coach Rex Ryan gathered with Darrelle Revis, Chad Pennington, D\u2019Brickashaw Ferguson, Damien Woody and more fellow Gang Green members, per ESPN<\/a>, to mourn the sudden loss of Mangold, who died on Oct. 25<\/a> due to complications of kidney disease.<\/p>\n

He was just 41 years old.<\/p>\n

Ex-Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick stepped to the lectern, took a deep breath and recited a passage from the Book of Proverbs.<\/p>\n

\u201cBlessed is the man for whom a good family lives,\u201d Fitzpatrick read, \u201cto whom work is a pleasure, by whom his friends are encouraged with whom others are comfortable, in whom a clear conscience abides.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hall of Famer Alan Faneca delivered a poignant eulogy while wearing a backward green Jets hat, a nod to Mangold\u2019s signature look.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo help me today, I\u2019m gonna use a little inspiration from Nick,\u201d Faneca said as he turned the hat around before putting it on, a gesture that drew laughs from throughout the church. \u201cI think he\u2019d approve.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNick had this special ability to make everyone feel seen, valued and cared for. He had a gift for turning ordinary moments into memories, through his humor, kindness and his genuine heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Among the pallbearers for the service was A.J. Hawk, Mangold\u2019s Ohio State teammate. Hawk wore a jacket with Mangold\u2019s jersey No. 74 embroidered on the breast pocket and was seen wiping away tears while escorting Mangold\u2019s casket into the church.<\/p>\n
