Paul Rodgers will not reunite with Bad Company when the band is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this weekend.<\/p>\n
While he has no issues singing, the legendary rock frontman won\u2019t attend the ceremony because of health issues. <\/p>\n
\u201cMy hope was to be at the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame induction ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health,\u201d Rodgers wrote on the band\u2019s X page<\/a> Monday, Nov. 3. <\/p>\n Rodgers did not reveal what is wrong with his health, only that he will not be able to be at the event.<\/p>\n \u201cI have no problem singing, it\u2019s the stress of everything else. Thanks for understanding,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n Formed in London in 1973, Bad Company were one of rock\u2019s first and most successful supergroups. The band \u2014 originally consisting of Rogers, Mott the Hoople (Mick Ralphs), King Crimson (Boz Burrell) and Free (Simon Kirke) \u2014 were known for combining arena-ready blues-rock swagger with Top 40 hits.<\/p>\n Bad Company saw most of its success throughout the 1970s. The band\u2019s first three albums \u2014 \u201cBad Company\u201d (1974), \u201cStraight Shooter\u201d (1975) and \u201cRun with the Pack\u201d (1976) \u2014 all peaked in the top five on the albums charts in the U.S. and U.K. Many of Bad Company\u2019s songs \u2014 including \u201cBad Company,\u201d \u201dCan\u2019t Get Enough,” \u201cFeel Like Makin\u2019 Love\u201d \u201cShooting Star,\u201d \u201cBurnin\u2019 Sky\u201d and \u201cRock \u2018n\u2019 Roll Fantasy\u201d \u2014 are considered classic rock staples. <\/p>\n Overall, Bad Company has sold<\/a> roughly 20 million RIAA-certified albums in the U.S. and 40 million albums worldwide. The band disbanded in 1982 but reunited on several occasions to record new music and tour until 2019. <\/p>\n Kirke revealed in 2023<\/a> that the band would not continue after Rogers\u2019 developed health issues. Burrell died in 2006, followed by Ralphs in 2025. Kirke and Rodgers are the only surviving members of Bad Company\u2019s original lineup.<\/p>\n In addition to Bad Company, this year\u2019s inductees<\/a> are White Stripes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Outkast and Soundgarden in the performer category. Meanwhile, Salt-N-Pepa and the late Warren Zevon will get the Musical Influence Award.
