Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene\u2019s impassioned criticism of the economy on ABC\u2019s \u201cThe View\u201d prompted a jarring suggestion from co-host Joy Behar \u2014 maybe the MAGA diehard \u201cshould become a Democrat.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Georgia congresswoman, a longtime Trump ally, has been making the rounds on left-leaning channels as she sides with Dems on their calls to extend Obamacare tax credits and end the government shutdown.<\/p>\n
During Tuesday\u2019s show, which coincided with Election Day, Greene said she was \u201cunapologetically America first\u201d when it comes to serving her constituents.<\/p>\n

Behar jumped in: \u201cMaybe you should become a Democrat, Marjorie.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not a Democrat,\u201d Greene replied, though her response was nearly drowned out by the audience\u2019s applause. \u201cYou want to know something, I say this: I think both parties have failed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Greene hit back at claims that she has flip-flopped during the government shutdown, which is now the longest in history at 36 days.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody is like, \u2018Marjorie Taylor Greene has changed.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh no, nothing has changed about me!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am staying absolutely, 100% true to the people that voted for me and true to my district.\u201d<\/p>\n
Behar pushed back, questioning how Greene could still support Trump because he \u201cgoes against everything you just said.\u201d<\/p>\n
Greene replied that she \u201cfought\u201d for Trump to win and is \u201cvery thankful for the secure border.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier in the show, co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked Greene about MAGA voters who supported Trump because they wanted low grocery prices \u2013 and are now frustrated that tariffs appear to be hurting soybean and cattle farmers while the shutdown has brought about food stamp cuts.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am so America first,\u201d Greene said. \u201cThat\u2019s my district and that\u2019s what people want. They are so tired of their hard-earned tax dollars being sent overseas to foreign wars and foreign aid and foreign causes while life in America just becomes more and more unaffordable.\u201d<\/p>\n
