Auburn and Notre Dame have finalized plans for a home-and-home football series that will mark the first-ever meeting between the two storied programs, sources confirm to AuburnSports.<\/p>\n
The series begins in 2027 at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, with the return game set for 2028 at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The agreement brings together two of college football\u2019s most tradition-rich names, adding a marquee non-conference matchup to both teams\u2019 future schedules.<\/p>\n

Sources told AuburnSports there was a thought about creating a neutral-site game in Nashville inside the Tennessee Titans\u2019 new stadium to start the 2027 season, but the home-and-home agreement was reached instead. That\u2019s great news and credit to Auburn\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n
Sources told AuburnSports recently that this been in discussion for more than a year and played a role in AU\u2019s recent decision to move next season\u2019s game against Baylor to a neutral-site venue, a shift that reportedly resulted in a payout of at least $4 million. Adjusting that matchup helped open flexibility in future scheduling as the Tigers worked toward finalizing the agreement with the Fighting Irish.<\/p>\n
