{"id":273884,"date":"2025-11-05T22:31:09","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T22:31:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/273884\/"},"modified":"2025-11-05T22:31:09","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T22:31:09","slug":"quincy-williams-says-the-jets-have-benched-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/273884\/","title":{"rendered":"Quincy Williams says the Jets have benched him"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Jets traded Quinnen Williams on Tuesday and they benched his brother on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>Linebacker Quincy Williams has been a starter since the 2021 season, but he told Rich Cimini of ESPN that the team is moving him to the bench ahead of their Week 10 game against the Browns. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy coaches told me I <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RichCimini\/status\/1986184451202671097\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">was underperforming<\/a>, that I\u2019ve been underperforming since training camp,\u201d Williams said.<\/p>\n<p>Williams told Cimini he\u2019s \u201cnot thrilled\u201d by the decision, but is also not mad about it because he plans to work his way back into the team\u2019s plans. Williams missed four games with a shoulder injury earlier this year and has 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks on the year. <\/p>\n<p>Jamien Sherwood and Kiko Mauigoa will likely be the starting linebackers for the Jets. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Jets traded Quinnen Williams on Tuesday and they benched his brother on Wednesday.
