After more than a decade away from the small screen, Jessica Simpson<\/a> is returning to television, but she looks a little different than fans might remember.<\/p>\n

In Ryan Murphy<\/a>\u2018s new femme-fueled Hulu drama All\u2019s Fair<\/a>, Jessica Simpson is almost unrecognizable in a guest role as a woman named Lee-Ann. Introduced in Episode 3, Lee-Ann is suing her rock-star husband (played by Rick Springfield<\/a>) after he pressured her into a series of disastrous plastic surgeries. Simpson\u2019s face is a wreck \u2014 the blown-up lips and over-stretched skin are only the beginning. Her husband sent her to a surgeon known as \u201cThe Butcher of Beverly Hills,\u201d who kept operating on her again and again, leaving her physically and emotionally destroyed.<\/p>\n

Simpsons, whose last on-screen appearance was in 2010 on Entourage<\/a> as herself, told Entertainment Tonight<\/a> she had a blast making her big return to acting.<\/p>\n

\u201cFilming All\u2019s Fair was incredible. I had a blast. I did eight hours of protechtics, so it was very intense. Props to the prosthetics team, I love you guys so much,\u201d Simpsons told Entertainment Tonight. \u201cThey said I had the most patience of anyone they ever worked with. That\u2019s a good compliment. I really embody someone who I\u2019m not. So I was definitely acting!\u201d<\/p>\n

But the cherry on top was the chance to act with a good friend. \u201cKim [Kardashian]<\/a>, well, we just live down the street from each other, our kids are best friends. So to be on set, it felt kind of natural. It was fun to work together. We never worked together,\u201d said Simpson. \u201cShe did all the lawyer talk. I did all the whining.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans who haven\u2019t seen Simpson in a while were shocked by her appearance in All\u2019s Fair and took to social media to share their thoughts.<\/p>\n

Apparently, the prosthetics were so good, it confused a few fans. \u201cPlease tell me Jessica Simpson\u2019s face work is fake on this new show, All\u2019s Fair,\u201d wrote another X user.<\/a><\/p>\n

There was a wave of confusion online over her impressive prosthetics, with many viewers not realizing she was wearing latex. As users on X mocked Simpson for supposedly botching her face with \u201cplastic surgery,\u201d others stepped in to point out that the look was entirely makeup and part of the role.\u201dI don\u2019t think folks realize this is prosthetics. LOL.,\u201d wrote a viewer<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

To introduce her character (and clear up any confusion among fans), Simpson posted a cheeky glimpse of herself in full Lee-Ann regalia on Instagram<\/a>, along with the caption: \u201cIntroducing this ultimate bada*s with a heart of gold\u2014 Lee-Ann. It took an incredible village (and six hours in prosthetics!) to bring her to life for @hulu<\/a> \u2018s #AllsFair<\/a> and wow\u2026 what a ride.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also gave thanks to the show\u2019s creator, Ryan Murphy, as well as executive producers Anthony M. Hemmingway, Kim Kardashian, and Kris Jenner<\/a>: \u201cA massive thank you to @ryanmurphyproductions<\/a> , @kimkardashian<\/a> , @krisjenner<\/a> , and @shinybootz<\/a> for trusting me with a role like this. You allowed me to disappear into a character with real depth and emotion.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one has ever given me the chance to do something like this before, and I loved it. I hope you all see Lee-Ann\u2019s heart- and her strength- as much as I felt it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans rejoiced in the return of the singer\/actress and her taking joy in her outrageous All\u2019s Fair role. \u201cYou killed it!! We need to see you take on more roles,\u201d wrote one fan in the captions<\/a>.<\/p>\n
