The reimagined production was a smash hit, and Snook\u2019s performance was lauded by critics and fans alike; the show went to Broadway, and she swiftly picked up an Olivier Award and a Tony.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSo it was only natural that, while promoting her new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/peacock\/\" id=\"auto-tag_peacock_1\" data-tag=\"peacock\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Peacock<\/a> thriller <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-reviews\/all-her-fault-review-peacock-sarah-snook-jake-lacy-1236414777\/#:~:text=Like%20any%20mystery%20worth%20its,it%20in%20the%20first%20place.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">All Her Fault<\/a> \u2014\u00a0Snook\u2019s first major TV appearance since retiring Shiv Roy, the cynical and cold-blooded daughter at the center of Jesse Armstrong\u2019s media conglomerate empire \u2014\u00a0she would be asked about what exactly it was that drew her in after years of wild success with the Succession squad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s so difficult because Succession was such a big, zeitgeist, huge moment thing,\u201d Snook began at a press conference for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/all-her-fault\/\" id=\"auto-tag_all-her-fault_1\" data-tag=\"all-her-fault\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">All Her Fault<\/a> ahead of the show\u2019s Nov. 6 premiere. \u201c[It was] career-changing for me and so incredible, so my plan going forward was always choosing things that are different \u2014\u00a0but also to never compare. It\u2019s not a thing that I can ever top as an experience and as a world. It meant so much to me, so just finding something different was really important. And I feel like this is that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn All Her Fault, an eight-part series created by Megan Gallagher and based on Andrea Mara\u2019s novel of the same name, Snook plays Marissa Irvine, a mother living in a wealthy Chicago neighborhood. When Marissa goes to pick up her five-year-old son from a play date, he\u2019s not there and the woman who answers the door has never heard of him. What ensues is a twisty mystery that is, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-reviews\/all-her-fault-review-peacock-sarah-snook-jake-lacy-1236414777\/#:~:text=Like%20any%20mystery%20worth%20its,it%20in%20the%20first%20place.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Hollywood Reporter\u2018s review<\/a>, poked and prodded at from all angles. The White Lotus\u2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/jake-lacy\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jake-lacy_1\" data-tag=\"jake-lacy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jake Lacy<\/a> stars as Marissa\u2019s husband, Peter, in a lineup that also boasts Dakota Fanning, Michael Pe\u00f1a, Sophia Lillis, Abby Elliott, Jay Ellis, Daniel Monks, Duke McCloud.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s very different from Shiv,\u201d said Snook about portraying Marissa. \u201c[Shiv] is internally cold and stiff and presented. Marissa, there\u2019s a warmth. And so much of it came from costuming \u2014\u00a0we\u2019ve got knits and cozy jumpers and we\u2019re trying to find a way to keep that warmth alive, even though she\u2019s going through the hellscape of having her child go missing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSnook also serves as an executive producer on the show, something she admits was a balance with a two-and-a-half-year-old, who she shares with husband Dave Lawson. \u201cI do have a wonderful stay at home husband who is working on parenting,\u201d the actress began. \u201cThat is one of the toughest jobs. And. you don\u2019t get days off ever, unless you have a nanny, and then you have to balance that as well \u2014\u00a0affordability and all that kind of stuff that comes into it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tShe used this balancing act as inspiration for playing Marissa. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot reflected from my current state in the character insofar as me working and trying to be a parent at the same time. Marissa has the added stress of her husband working as well and trying to create a career. It\u2019s balance of who\u2019s is more important in this moment, and then at the same time a child goes missing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tOn the other hand, being an exec producer allowed Snook to be more \u201cfront-footed\u201d on set, an experience she came to savor. \u201cShaping a culture on set, that was really nice. To be able to take more of a hand in [things],\u201d she said, as well as championing an eco-friendly set, too. \u201cBeing in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/australia\/\" id=\"auto-tag_australia_1\" data-tag=\"australia\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Australia<\/a>, we were able to run the set in a particular way that was much more environmentally friendly,\u201d she said. \u201cWe had reusable coffee cups. We had reusable cutlery and plates. I\u2019m a very strong advocate for the environment and what we can do to help reduce waste. We did a lot of things on set, catalyzed by [my] being a producer, that I\u2019m really proud of. We had electric vehicles. We had hydrogenated vegetable oil running our unit-based trucks, which is just incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWhen asked about this series\u2019 Big Little Lies similarities, Snook indicated she understood the desire to tell stories about affluent families. \u201cThere\u2019s definitely that happening, and I think that\u2019s something that audiences quite like to see at the moment, in a way that Succession was popular. There\u2019s this [idea] that surely, with wealth comes happiness and ease,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd that\u2019s just not the case. Like yes, money can bring happiness to a point, but you\u2019re still going to be dealing with life and being human and I think there\u2019s something interesting about pulling apart things that, on the surface, look glossy and perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tOf course, it wouldn\u2019t have been a thorough presser without asking how Shiv Roy would handle Marissa\u2019s situation. \u201cOh that\u2019s a good one,\u201d Snook responded. \u201cShe\u2019d throw money at the situation. She would she would be livid. It\u2019d be so much arm\u2019s length-distance parenting from Shiv that she would barely be involved with the child.
