Former LSU Tigers<\/a> standout and now Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese once turned emotional over an accomplishment in her rookie year in the WNBA. In July 2024, Reese and the rest of coach Tyler Marsh\u2019s Sky team recorded an eight-point triumph over the Atlanta Dream, 85-77, in away territory, the Gateway Center in College Park, Georgia, for their seventh win in that campaign.<\/p>\n During the post-game press conference, Reese<\/a> was asked about her 2024 All-Star Game selection. She got teary-eyed at the fact that she was named in the annual exhibition game in just her rookie campaign.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, we won today. We won today, but they just told me that I\u2019m an All-Star and I mean, I\u2019m just so happy. I know the work I put in coming into this league. So many people doubted me and didn\u2019t think my game would translate, and I wouldn\u2019t be the player that I was in college or even better or would be worse and wouldn\u2019t be where I am right now. But, I trusted the process and I believed,\u201d she said<\/a>.<\/p>\n Reese went on to post<\/a> 12 points, 11 rebounds, a steal, and one block in about 18 minutes of action in her first WNBA All-Star game. She was able to be a spark off the bench for Team WNBA in their eight-point win, 117-109, over Team USA. In the aforementioned post-game presser, Reese said she is glad to have been drafted by the franchise and to be selected at No. 7. The Baltimore, Maryland, native was more than excited to uncork her first All-Star Weekend with her Sky teammates and coaching staff.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m thankful that I dropped to seven and was able to come to Chicago. It\u2019s just a blessing. I can\u2019t thank my teammates and my coaches enough for just believing in me and trusting me.
