The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their first injury report ahead of Week 10\u2019s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Per the team\u2019s Wednesday report, eight players failed to practice<\/a> to begin the week: WR Scotty Miller (finger), CB Cory Trice Jr. (hamstring\/knee), S Jabrill Peppers (quad), ILB Cole Holcomb (illness), EDGE Alex Highsmith (ankle), OG Isaac Seumalo (pec), TE Darnell Washington (foot), and TE Jonnu Smith (rest).<\/p>\n

Practicing in full on Wednesday were QB Will Howard (hand) and S Chuck Clark (illness).<\/p>\n

In Week 9, Seumalo aggravated a pec injury he had first suffered in the Week 8 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. He was unable to finish against the Green Bay Packers. However, Mike Tomlin left the door open for him<\/a> to play against the Chargers. If not, Spencer Anderson will earn his first start of the season at left guard, leaving an open question as to who could replace Anderson\u2019s role as the sixth offensive lineman.<\/p>\n

Holcomb and Clark missed last Sunday\u2019s game due to illness, while Miller sat out with a finger injury. Tomlin indicated Clark was ready to return while Holcomb was still sick. Tomlin noted Holcomb and Miller could play this weekend, but practice availability would serve as the team\u2019s guide.<\/p>\n

Peppers suffered a quad injury ahead of the Colts game and was inactive. Similar to Holcomb and Miller, the Steelers may not know his status until later this week. Kyle Dugger played all but one snap in his debut as Pittsburgh\u2019s defense enjoyed its best game of the season.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, Tomlin did not mention Washington among the injured players. That suggests his injury is minor. Still, it\u2019s one worth watching on tomorrow\u2019s report.<\/p>\n

Slay dislocated his finger during Sunday\u2019s game, but is expected to play this weekend and practiced in full on Wednesday. Highsmith injured his ankle early in Sunday\u2019s game but returned to finish the afternoon with his best outing of the season. He was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week.<\/a> As of now, there\u2019s no belief he\u2019ll miss Week 10\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

Howard remains on injured reserve but has practiced fully since having his window opened. Pittsburgh has until next Wednesday to activate him to the 53-man roster or leave him on injured reserve for the rest of 2025. Trice suffered a knee injury one day after returning to practice and was ruled out for Week 9\u2019s game. He remains on injured reserve and is tracking towards spending the rest of the season on the list.<\/p>\n
