When Blue Jays right fielder Addison Barger clubbed a double to deep left-center in the ninth inning, <a class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_aoxits\" href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/mlb\/world-series-wedgie-saves-dodgers-season-forces-game-7\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dean alertly put his hands in the air<\/a> as the ball wedged itself underneath the Rogers Centre fence. The ball was called dead, and two batters later the Dodgers forced Game 7.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_a6gx11t2p\">Los Angeles went on to win its second straight World Series, but Dean will not be around to celebrate on Opening Day next year. On Thursday, the <a class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_aoxits\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SFGiants\/status\/1986557571667534100?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Giants claimed him<\/a> off waivers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_1mfvp8o-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_nrjk4gneo\">Despite making a slice of baseball history, Dean has barely seen MLB action. He has played in 18 regular-season and 13 postseason games, primarily as a substitute in some form or fashion.
