He\u2019ll also compete for Song and Record of the Year again, this time for his hit collaboration with SZA, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/kendrick-lamar-sza-luther-music-video-1235315583\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cLuther.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tLady Gaga was right behind Lamar, picking up seven nominations, while Bad Bunny had six. Gaga was nominated in the three big categories \u2014 Album, Song, and Record of the Year \u2014 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/lady-gaga-mayhem-review-1235291651\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mayhem<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/lady-gaga-surprise-single-video-abracadabra-1235254784\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cAbracadabra,\u201d<\/a> while Bad Bunny picked up his second Album of the Year nod for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/bad-bunny-debi-tirar-mas-fotos-review-1235226562\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">DeB\u00cd TiRAR M\u00e1S FOToS<\/a>, as well as his first nod as lead artist for Song and Record of the Year for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-latin\/bad-bunny-baile-inolvidabe-dtmf-salsa-plena-1235239752\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cDtMF\u201d<\/a> (he was previously nominated in the latter category for \u201cI Like It\u201d with Cardi B and J Balvin).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tSabrina Carpenter and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/leon-thomas-npr-tiny-desk-performance-1235273981\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Leon Thomas<\/a> also picked up six nominations each, and both will compete in Album of the Year, too, for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/sabrina-carpenter-mans-best-friend-review-1235419429\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Man\u2019s Best Friend<\/a> and Mutt, respectively. Other nominees in that category include Justin Bieber\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/justin-bieber-swag-review-1235384154\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Swag<\/a>, Clipse\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/clipse-let-god-sort-em-out-pusha-malice-1235371027\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Let God Sort Em Out<\/a>, and Tyler, the Creator\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/tyler-the-creator-chromakopia-review-1235147040\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chromakopia<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn Record of the Year, \u201cLuther,\u201d \u201cAbracadabra,\u201d and \u201cDtMF\u201d will be up against Carpenter\u2019s \u201cManchild,\u201d Doechii\u2019s \u201cAnxiety,\u201d Billie Eilish\u2019s \u201cWildflower,\u201d Chappell Roan\u2019s \u201cThe Subway,\u201d and Ros\u00e9 and Bruno Mars\u2019 \u201cAPT.\u201d And Song of the Year will boast \u201cAbracadabra,\u201d \u201cAnxiety,\u201d \u201cAPT.\u201d, \u201cLuther,\u201d \u201cManchild,\u201d \u201cWildflower,\u201d and \u201cGolden,\u201d the breakthrough track from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/kpop-demon-hunters-success-netflix-why-1235448146\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">KPop Demon Hunters<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tRounding out the big four categories, Best New Artist is set to feature Olivia Dean, Katseye, the Marias, Addison Rae, Sombr, Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young. (Of those nominees, only Katseye, Thomas, and Young received nominations in other Grammy categories.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tLamar will certainly be favored to build off the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/grammys-2025-recap-beyonce-kendrick-lamar-chappelle-roan-1235254903\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recent Grammys success of \u201cNot Like Us,\u201d<\/a> and if he manages to win Album of the Year, GNX will become the first rap album to win the night\u2019s biggest prize since Outkast\u2019s Speakerboxxx\/The Love Below in 2003. The rapper has also found himself on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/beyonce-wins-album-of-the-year-2025-grammys-1235237539\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Beyonc\u00e9-level streak<\/a> of repeated Album of the Year nominations, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/beyonce-album-of-the-year-grammys-snubs-1234678457\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">no wins<\/a>: This is his sixth time nominated for the big prize, having earned nods for every solo album he\u2019s released since Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City, as well as one for the Black Panther soundtrack LP.<\/p>\n<p>\t\tEditor\u2019s picks<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tBut some of Lamar\u2019s competitors are equally overdue for an Album of the Year win. Lady Gaga has been nominated for the prize four times before, while this is Bieber\u2019s third time being nominated. Gaga is a highly decorated Grammy winner, with 14 prizes to her name, but she hasn\u2019t yet won a major prize in her career. Similarly, neither has Bieber, though he\u2019s only won two Grammys.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tFor Clipse, the hip-hop duo\u2019s five nominations are their first in 22 years, having been nominated just once before in 2003 for their song with Justin Timberlake, \u201cLike I Love You.\u201d And this is Tyler, the Creator\u2019s first time being nominated for Album of Year as a solo artist, having twice won Best Rap Album. The musician also picked up his first nomination in a non-rap category, notching a Best Alternative Album nod for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/tyler-the-creator-dont-tap-the-glass-review-1235392232\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Don\u2019t Tap the Glass<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThis could be the year Carpenter or Bad Bunny cement their place as Grammy favorites, with both artists earning a handful of genre prizes over the past few years. Meanwhile, Eilish has once again proven irresistible to Grammy voters, having now been nominated in at least one category every year going back to 2020. The same goes for Bruno Mars, who\u2019s only lost once in his last 15 nominations, going back to 2016.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\tRelated Content<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThis year\u2019s breakout artist is undeniably Thomas, who won a Grammy two years ago, Best R&amp;B Song, for his work on SZA\u2019s \u201cSnooze.\u201d The six nods he picked up this year, however, are his first as a solo following the success of his second LP, Mutt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAs always, there were several major first-time nominees. Protest singer Jesse Welles was nominated in four folk and Americana categories, while Blackpink\u2019s Ros\u00e9, country artist Zach Top, and U.K. rocker Yungblud all scored three nominations each. The celebrated singer\/songwriter\/producer Dijon picked up his first two Grammy noms, too, though interestingly, they weren\u2019t for his acclaimed album, Baby. Instead, he earned a nod for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, and is up for Best Rap song for his work on Lamar\u2019s \u201cTV Off.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tOther surprises scattered throughout the genre fields include five nominations for Baltimore hardcore favorites Turnstile for their latest LP, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/turnstile-never-enough-review-1235353560\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Never Enough<\/a>, as well as four for Paramore\u2019s Hayley Williams for her latest, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/hayley-williams-ego-death-at-a-bachelorette-party-review-1235417437\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party<\/a>. Country star Tyler Childers will have another chance to win his first Grammy, earning four nominations for his latest LP, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/tyler-childers-snipe-hunter-review-1235393373\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Snipe Hunter<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tNext year\u2019s Grammys will also see the introduction of a few new categories, including Best Album Cover. (Nominees include Tyler\u2019s Chromakopia, Djo\u2019s The Crux, Bad Bunny\u2019s DeB\u00cd TiRAR M\u00e1S FOToS, Perfume Genius\u2019 Glory, and Wet Leg\u2019s Moisturizer.) There will also be some changes to the country category, with the Grammys effectively splitting Best Country Album into Best Contemporary Country Album and Best Traditional Country Album. The latter category features one of the more interesting match-ups of 2026, too: Willie Nelson against his own son, Lukas Nelson.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy
