(Reuters) -Spanish travel \u200btechnology company Amadeus is “extremely well \u200cpositioned” to deal with possible expansion into its industry \u200cby large-language-models and AI platforms like ChatGPT, the company’s chief executive said on Friday.<\/p>\n
According to Luis Maroto, Amadeus’ \u2060objective is to \u200cbe the key technology provider for AI platforms, supplying them with real-\u200dtime pricing, among other services.<\/p>\n
“As we have done at times of other technology changes, we \u200baim to be playing that role in the \u200cmiddle,” Maroto said on a call with analysts, adding that he does not believe the goal of AI platforms is to become merchants and content aggregators.<\/p>\n
Dealing with the \u2060complexity of servicing and pricing \u200bis “not an easy \u200btask”, he said.<\/p>\n
The operator of the world’s largest travel booking system \u200dreported better-\u2060than-expected third-quarter profit earlier on Friday, driven by strong performances across its \u2060divisions and an uptick in bookings.<\/p>\n
