If you were planning to skip\u00a0College GameDay\u00a0this weekend because of the ongoing carriage between Disney and YouTube TV<\/a>, Pat McAfee<\/a> has good news. The ESPN personality revealed Friday that College GameDay\u00a0will be live-streamed in full on his X (formerly Twitter) account Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cBreaking news \u2014\u00a0GameDay\u00a0will be available on X, on our account, in its entirety,\u201d McAfee announced on The Pat McAfee Show<\/a>. \u201cSo if you\u2019re in the middle of this dispute that\u2019s taking place between ESPN and YouTube TV, if you have an X account at all,\u00a0GameDay\u00a0will be live on there for the second week in a row.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a major move for both ESPN and X. McAfee added that it might signal something larger happening in the media landscape as a whole.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is kind of a trailblazing thing for X,\u201d McAfee said. \u201cThey\u2019ve made deals \u2014 they\u2019re getting in the content game with the NFL, they\u2019ve got deals with the WWE. They\u2019re starting to try to get into the content game in a bigger way. They\u2019re starting to be a hosting platform. They\u2019re trying their best.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also touched on Elon Musk\u2019s broader ambitions for the platform: \u201cRemember, Elon\u2019s vision of X is a place for everything, not just words. We want pictures. We want to be in the content-creator world. We want to do business. His goals are for X to become this one-stop shop,\u201d McAfee said. \u201cIn this content world, they\u2019ve been picking it up big time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, McAfee credited ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro for finding ways to keep\u00a0GameDay\u00a0accessible during the dispute: \u201cJimmy Pitaro needs a lot of credit for this,\u201d McAfee said. \u201cHe loves\u00a0College GameDay\u00a0and what it brings to people. He understands that fans are upset about everything going on business-wise, and he\u2019s zigging and zagging to get\u00a0GameDay\u00a0to fans however possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the move won\u2019t fix the broader blackout between ESPN and YouTube TV, it offers a welcome reprieve for college football fans. They\u2019ll still be able to watch\u00a0College GameDay\u00a0live, even if the broadcast game that follows, BYU<\/a> at Texas Tech<\/a>, remains unavailable on ABC.<\/p>\n
