\n\tIt\u2019s a big day for the women of Huntrix. <\/p>\n
\n\tEJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, the singing voices behind the heroes of KPop Demon Hunters<\/a>, have earned several 2026 Grammy nominations, just the latest affirmation of the film and its music<\/a>\u2018s global takeover. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThere have [been] a lot of different emotions. Obviously, there is pure ecstasy, it\u2019s somewhere deep in there, but I think there\u2019s also shock,\u201d Nuna tells The Hollywood Reporter shortly after the nominations were announced Friday.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThere\u2019s just a lot of emotions surrounding how long this journey has been for all of us and in some way feeling connected to the pain of the journey and the rollercoaster of that journey,\u201d she adds. \u201cAll in one moment.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe film\u2019s hit single, \u201cGolden,\u201d which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for much of this summer, was nominated for song of the year, with co-writer Mark Sonnenblick also earning a nomination for the song. \u201cGolden\u201d earned a nod for best pop duo\/group performance as well as for best song written for visual media. <\/p>\n \n\tThe David Guetta remix of the song was also nominated for best remixed recording. KPop Demon Hunter\u2019s soundtrack itself was nominated for best compilation soundtrack for visual media. The song of the year nomination marks the first time a K-pop group\u2019s song has been nominated in the general field. (This year, Blackpink member Ros\u00e9 also became the first K-pop artist to be nominated in the general field for \u201cAPT,\u201d which also got a nomination in song of the year as well as for record of the year.)<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI blacked out,\u201d Ami jokes when asked how she felt upon hearing about the nominations. \u201dI\u2019m still blacked out. I\u2019m probably not going to remember any of this morning in a few hours.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tEJAE agrees. \u201cOne is enough. It\u2019s more than enough. It\u2019s so hard to achieve, but damn, getting multiple is just crazy,\u201d she says. \u201cThat\u2019s when I stopped crying. I\u2019m just like, what am I dreaming?\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tKPop Demon Hunters has become Netflix\u2019s most popular title ever. The project chronicles the adventures of Huntrix, a K-pop girl group comprised of three members who also just happen to fight monsters from the underworld. In addition to topping the Netflix charts, its soundtrack has spent several weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart.\u00a0THR\u00a0first broke the news in August that a\u00a0sequel film is in talks<\/a>\u00a0at Netflix and Sony Animation, however, it was confirmed earlier this week<\/a> that the directors and studio had confirmed their deals with the streamer for the next installment.<\/p>\n \n\tFor all three of the women, this moment is \u201cgolden\u201d for many reasons, but doing it together remains at the top. \u201cI\u2019m so incredibly grateful for Audrey and EJAE. I could not do this without them; Huntrix is not Huntrix without the three of us,\u201d says Ami. \u201cTo just imagine trying to do this by myself; it\u2019s just depressing. I don\u2019t want to go down that route. That would be a very dark and sad, lonely place.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAs EJAE adds: \u201cIt\u2019s a very unique experience, and having people that I can talk to about it is amazing.\u201d She says she\u2019s learned so much from the other women.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe sorority is incredible,\u201d Nuna says. \u201cTo be able to stand as a group and do it together, honestly, it\u2019s kind of weird, but it makes me think of our freaking ancestors. Just all three of us, our ancestors, and even just that cute thought of them sharing kimchi or something. This idea of sorority has seen gotten women through so much and has advanced things so much in this world, and this is just another beautiful manifestation of that. I love my girlies.
