Former Crimson Tide quarterback AJ McCarron warns that despite LSU\u2019s 5-3 overall and 2-3 SEC record, the Tigers should not be taken lightly.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a new energy within an organization whenever (there is a firing,\u201d McCarron said on \u201cThe Dynasty\u201d podcast. \u201cIt can either go well for you and players want to play well and do well. If you do have that momentum in the game, there\u2019s a new juice and excitement throughout the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf it goes south early in that game, you\u2019re cooked. You\u2019re done. It\u2019s over with. Go ahead and pack everything up.\u201d<\/p>\n
So, McCarron said, it is really no surprise what Alabama has to make LSU do to make the Tigers quit.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe biggest thing is for Bama to start fast,\u201d he said. \u201cIf Bama can start fast and put them away, they\u2019ll quit and be done. They\u2019ll all be on the phone with agents as soon as the game ends talking about how I\u2019m entering the portal.\u201d<\/p>\n
If LSU sticks around, the game will be competitive.<\/p>\n
The Tigers, who have lost two in a row and three of four, are hoping to see better results against the Tide. Alabama has won seven consecutive games since a season-opening loss at Florida State and 15 in a row at Bryant-Denny Stadium. <\/p>\n
LSU and Alabama rank 15th and 14th, respectively, in the SEC in rushing. Both teams made improving their ground games a priority during their off week. A potential X-factor for LSU is freshman Harlem Berry, who averaged 5.8 yards a carry in his last two games.<\/p>\n
