The first College Football Playoff Rankings of the 2025 season dropped on Monday. It\u2019s safe to say former Florida State<\/a> head coach Jimbo Fisher<\/a> was not a fan.<\/p>\n

Five ACC teams were present in the rankings, including No. 14 Virginia<\/a>, No. 15 Louisville<\/a>, No. 17 Georgia Tech<\/a>, No. 18 Miami<\/a>, and No. 24 Pittsburgh<\/a>. Fisher, however, claimed that Georgia Tech should have been ranked higher, while calling out the committee for ranking Notre Dame<\/a> over Miami although the Hurricanes own the head-to-head.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s a little bit disrespectful, especially to Georgia Tech,\u201d Fisher said during Friday\u2019s \u2018SportsCenter.\u2019 \u201cWhen I look at Georgia Tech, they had a loss to North Carolina State<\/a>, who always plays well at home. They get people at home every year in the Pit. That\u2019s one of the toughest places to play in the country and they have one loss.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut they have some unbelievable wins and to have one loss and be moved all the way back to 17, there\u2019s teams above them with two losses and teams that have one loss that don\u2019t have the significant wins that they do. I think Georgia Tech has been slighted a bunch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jimbo Fisher claims Miami should be ahead of Notre Dame in CFP Rankings<\/p>\n

\u201cMiami has two losses, and one of the two-loss teams that they beat (Notre Dame) is ahead of them,\u201d Fisher continued. \u201cAnd then you have Virginia, who can make a run and Louisville, which is playing great football. So I think we\u2019re in good shape. We\u2019ve got to play well down the stretch, but I think there\u2019s been some disrespect. Quite frankly, from watching the game tape, I don\u2019t see what the committee saw.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was certainly a sharp descent for Georgia Tech, which was ranked No. 8 in last week\u2019s AP Poll before its loss on the road at NC State. There is still time for the Yellow Jackets to rise back up in the polls, however, as they still have massive games against No. 24 Pittsburgh<\/a> and No. 5 Georgia<\/a> on the docket over the next three weeks.<\/p>\n

As for Miami, however, it has now dropped two of its last three games after opening the season with a 5-0 record. Notre Dame has the luxury of being better lately, as the Fighting Irish have won six consecutive games following their 0-2 start with losses to Texas A&M<\/a> and the Hurricanes.<\/p>\n

With three weeks remaining in the college football season before the ACC Championship Game, plenty of movement will take place in the conference when it comes to the College Football Rankings.
