By Andy Kahn<\/a> Nov 7, 2025 \u2022 3:47 pm PST<\/p>\n The Disco Biscuits<\/a> guitarist Jon Gutwillig<\/a> posted an apology to former drummer Allen Aucoin<\/a>, who recently left the band after a 20-year tenure. Gutwillig\u2019s apology addressed the \u201cdiss track\u201d titled \u201cI don\u2019t talk\u201d<\/a> he posted (and quickly took down) around the time of Aucoin\u2019s departure. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll cut right to the chase: I want to apologize to Allen, to the fans, and to my band for releasing \u2018I don\u2019t talk,\u2019\u201d Gutwillig\u2019s apology began<\/a>. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter what led up to my emotional reaction and choice to share this song publicly, all that matters is that it was hurtful to both Allen and everyone else involved. Emotions were running high, rumors were flying and I felt the need to defend the Biscuits and to set the record straight that our decision to part with Allen was personal and creative more than anything else. That information could have been delivered in a much more professional and compassionate way.\u201d <\/p>\n Gutwillig and his co-founding Bisco bandmates, bassist Marc Brownstein<\/a> and keyboardist Aron Magner<\/a> named Marlon B. Lewis<\/a> as the band\u2019s drummer. Lewis made his debut behind the kit on Halloween<\/a> and is currently on tour with the group. <\/p>\n Aucoin joined the Disco Biscuits in 2005, replacing founding drummer Sam Altman. At the time of his exit, Aucoin shared a statement addressing the end of his tenure with Bisco, which he framed as the Disco Biscuits \u201cmoving forward without\u201d him and \u201cnot solely financially driven.\u201d <\/p>\n The Disco Biscuits perform tonight at The National in Richmond, Virginia.
