{"id":279109,"date":"2025-11-08T10:31:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-08T10:31:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/279109\/"},"modified":"2025-11-08T10:31:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-08T10:31:07","slug":"bullets-83-81-jackjumpers-nov-8-2025-game-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/279109\/","title":{"rendered":"Bullets 83-81 JackJumpers (Nov 8, 2025) Game Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tasmania JackJumpers coach Scott Roth has lamented more sloppy basketball in the final moments as his side repeated history in a two-point NBL loss to Brisbane.<\/p>\n<p>And he admitted they simply &#8220;couldn&#8217;t handle&#8221; Casey Prather (28 points, eight rebounds) or Tyrell Harrison (21 points, nine rebounds, three assists) in Saturday&#8217;s 83-81 defeat in Hobart.<\/p>\n<p>Prather hit the winning basket with less than one minute to play, then helped get a stop as the hosts, fresh off a one-point loss on Thursday in Launceston, dropped another home game in Hobart.<\/p>\n<p>Like on Thursday, JackJumpers star Bryce Hamilton (16 points, six rebounds) had possession for the final play but looked to dish to a teammate.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"\" data-mptype=\"image\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\"\/><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Ben Ayre&#8217;s open three-point effort rimmed out but on Saturday they could only rush a low-percentage heave that barely hit the rim as Bullets guard and captain Mitch Norton (four points, five assists) celebrated his return from a knee injury.<\/p>\n<p>JackJumpers forward Josh Bannan (18 points, 11 rebounds) was a thorn in his former team&#8217;s side but Bullets big Harrison dominated in his battle with Will Magnay (three points, 10 rebounds).<\/p>\n<p>The Boomers mainstay appeared in discomfort and temporarily left the game for the rooms in the third term, finishing with just two field goal attempts.<\/p>\n<p>Brisbane, thumped by Sydney at home in their last start, improved to 6-7 with their fourth road victory.<\/p>\n<p>The hosts, who dropped to 5-7, saw their four-point quarter-time lead vanish as Prather and Harrison dominated the second stanza.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Those two guys, 49 between them of the 83 points; we just couldn&#8217;t handle,&#8221; Roth, who denied Magnay was still carrying an injury, said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s going to be, at least for us, a lot of games in the last three minutes that will come down to execution.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have to tidy those things up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The third term began with a JackJumpers turnover from the inbound and a Harrison dunk that bounced off his own face into his hands.<\/p>\n<p>When Norton gathered a loose ball and Prather hit a dagger from long range the lead was 14.<\/p>\n<p>Ben Ayre (14 points, four-of-six triples) replied for Tasmania and they managed to nullify the deficit with less than two minutes to play.<\/p>\n<p>But, with turnovers at both ends, Prather held his nerve with a drive to the basket that decided the contest.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He knows I sleep better when he&#8217;s on the floor and around the team,&#8221; Bullets coach Stu Lash said of Norton, who missed seven weeks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Two dive on the floor loose balls and a charge &#8230; those are winning basketball plays that we&#8217;ve been missing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s a man&#8217;s man.
