In fact, the forthcoming 20th anniversary of their smash hit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=h_m-BjrxmgI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=h_m-BjrxmgI\">\u201cHey There Delilah\u201d<\/a> has inspired frontman Tom Higgenson and his band to keep fans \u2014 both old and new \u2014 excited and engaged after nearly 30 years. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"3A6ROXVUWNEWTKNRLRM7UCKZ6E\">\u201cI\u2019m sure the fans appreciate that, especially the ones that have seen us a bunch in the past,\u201d Higgenson said in a recent interview with MassLive. \u201cAnd for ones that have never seen us, they\u2019re going to be like, \u2018Holy [expletive]. That was so fun.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"3XQ6JXID4VGKPFD3MOUJF4QVU4\">Plain White T\u2019s are currently on joint tour with We The Kings dubbed \u201cThe Delilah Vs. Juliet Tour.\u201d The 21-show tour included a stop at Paradise Rock Club in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masslive.com\/boston\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.masslive.com\/boston\/\">Boston<\/a> on Thursday night, Nov. 6. Presented by <a href=\"https:\/\/emonite.com\/?srsltid=AfmBOopyv0DFWE-wu3vG50QbAXchMKsFI--BSC3TR1Kibt4c4T2ggtyK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/emonite.com\/?srsltid=AfmBOopyv0DFWE-wu3vG50QbAXchMKsFI--BSC3TR1Kibt4c4T2ggtyK\">Emo Nite<\/a>, the tour celebrates 2000s nostalgia with performances by two of the most popular rock bands to emerge from the decade. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"JOZGBBXVKRH3ZBCBNEN5SQKAZU\">Despite both bands knowing each other for years and playing one-off shows, this marks the first time the groups have toured together. The idea for the tour came about when Plain White T\u2019s guitarist Tim Lopez ran into Travis Clark, lead singer for We The Kings. The two joked about having a show that pitted both of the group\u2019s biggest songs \u2014 \u201cHey There Deliah\u201d and \u201cCheck Yes, Juliet\u201d \u2014 against each other.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ZVJ7IFNGINF6LDEGFTTSJZLXTM\">\u201cI think it started as just a passing kind of a joke. And then we realized, like, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s a great idea,\u2019\u201d Higgenson explained. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of a really perfect package.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"A2SDZ5PDSBFY5ESIO6NMRVFBLU\">Shows start with one of Emo Night\u2019s DJs hyping up the crowd before We The Kings and Plain White T\u2019s take the stage. Each band performs their set and then the other goes. Both have been switching off who closes at each show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"4WEBQCJLYBDH5E3AGQGCFIAL4U\">Higgenson said his band \u201chandcrafted the show\u201d by choosing \u201csome songs that maybe people wouldn\u2019t expect\u201d to make it more exciting for everyone. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"J5A3NH23NNB6FFI6I2IBRLN7LU\">\u201cWe\u2019re trying to make little moments throughout the set just to kind of shake it up for fans that have maybe seen the band before,\u201d the singer said. \u201cIt\u2019s a really fun set from us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"LAKHEIXUWFBNDAAUW6R4NLH5SA\">Some of these moments include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQQREkMjAIf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">pulling a fan dressed as Dr. Suess\u2019 the Lorax onto stage<\/a> and hosting a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQnSVP8EawZ\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Halloween costume contest<\/a>. This all goes into the Plain White T\u2019s goal of keeping fans on their toes 25 years after the band\u2019s official debut. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"QLHKPO6IR5AJZBXPHBISFIVNTA\">\u201cWe\u2019re having fun with it, man. Definitely just trying to make each show special and because obviously we\u2019ve been touring forever and so it\u2019s like, \u2018OK what\u2019s going to make this show different? After gaining an underground following in the Chicago area, the band released its debut album \u201cCome On Over\u201d in 2000. Plain White T\u2019s made their major label debut with their sophomore album \u201cStop\u201d in 2003, followed by \u201cAll That We Needed\u201d in 2005. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"G5XG5UZPWFA5ZHJDPFVZVFGIMU\">\u201cThe Delilah Vs. Juliet Tour\u201d comes as \u201cHey There Delilah\u201d will turn 20 next year. While originally released as part of the band\u2019s third album, \u201cHey There Delilah\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/plain-white-ts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/plain-white-ts\/\">topped<\/a> the Billboard Hot 100 after the track was re-released as a single off the band\u2019s third album, \u201cEvery Second Counts\u201d in 2006. The song went on to receive platinum certification from the RIAA that same year and earn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grammy.com\/artists\/tom-higgenson\/16832\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">two Grammy nominations<\/a>, including one for Song of the Year. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"MMF4VXCWGREJPA7I24AXOC3AWA\">\u201cHey There Delilah\u201d continues to prove itself as a staple of 2000s music to this day. The song recently surpassed 1 billion streams <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/4RCWB3V8V0dignt99LZ8vH?si=ab34f3ff2da848be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">on Spotify<\/a> and has been used in more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/music\/Hey-There-Delilah-6741543390367713282\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">44,000 TikToks<\/a>. This doesn\u2019t even account for the countless parodies and other viral memes that Higgenson receives every few weeks. Similar to these fans, the musician and Plain White T\u2019s have not gotten sick of their signature song. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"RMELOMHMYRBDDDCZ7RT4WDCQ3U\">\u201cWhen you pick up a guitar and you start writing songs, it\u2019s like that\u2019s what you wish for. You hope that you can write something that connects with people and that people love and people want to sing along to. So honestly, no, it never really gets old,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"NAPVY3TL5NHMBERYCR6UECUNZM\">\u201cWe have obviously a few other big hits, but nothing as big as \u2018Delilah.\u2019 It\u2019s like you kind of wish every song had that reaction and every song connected at that level, but like I said, I\u2019m just super grateful that we have one huge one and then a few more that really did connect in a big way,\u201d the frontman continued. \u201cWe\u2019re lucky to be where we\u2019re at and we love that people are still listening. It\u2019s awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"7J46RXB6GNGTXLVGIVEK56BOV4\">Higgenson also just released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3GFb2Evg_hs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">hyperpop-EDM remix<\/a> of \u201cHey There Delilah\u201d under his solo project, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.millionmilermusic.com\/aboutmilly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Million Miler<\/a>, to celebrate the song\u2019s upcoming anniversary. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ZNUB3AAUG5GKHCRSGLE4UNDWGQ\">Plain White T\u2019s and We The Kings will end their joint tour by playing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanswarpedtourorlando.com\/?fbp=fb.1.1762370328690.194625375654028943&amp;ttp=01K9AQA7DKEDEY0V98D0B1EY3T_.tt.1&amp;external_id=n3KmBD7SgaBg9JTu&amp;_gl=1*lv7zej*_gcl_au*MjAzNzIzMzEzLjE3NjIzNzAzMjk.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Warped Tour in Orlando, Florida on Nov. 15-16<\/a>. The emo music festival <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masslive.com\/entertainment\/2025\/02\/pop-punk-icon-to-make-warped-tour-debut-for-festivals-30th-anniversary.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">returned earlier this year<\/a> to celebrate its 30th anniversary with three, two-day festivals, each one showcasing 70 to 100 bands. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"GTPTQCYL4NAYJPOMHGMU7PK2EU\">Warped Tour, which first launched in 1995, spent 24 years traveling around North America before retiring in 2018. Plain White T\u2019s have performed the festival multiple times, so this year will feel like an extra special reunion for the band. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"7JXO4UORJNCXDLKMALACG5D7PA\">\u201cObviously that\u2019s just going to be a blast from the past. [We\u2019ll] see a bunch of our old friends. They\u2019ve got a lot of cool new bands on there this year and stuff,\u201d Higgenson said. \u201cSo, that\u2019s just going to be super fun, almost like a family reunion of sorts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"AYBJO7Z2RZDTZLA2MMPL2PST5A\">Afterward, Plain White T\u2019s will <a href=\"https:\/\/blockclubchicago.org\/2025\/10\/30\/plain-white-ts-to-headline-34th-magnificent-mile-lights-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">headline<\/a> the 34th Magnificent Mile Lights Festival in Chicago on Nov. 22. The event will feature a Christmas tree lighting and parade on top of the band\u2019s performance. The festival is also a homecoming for Higgenson and the rest of his band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"E626QN3YPZBMVAYFNXPDUAYNMI\">\u201cRepresenting for Chicago,\u201d the singer said with a chuckle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"WAHJVK2H5NGPNGTOKLDPGRRK54\">Once Plain White T\u2019s wrap up the band\u2019s live shows in December, the group will go back into the studio to make some new music. Higgenson said they have recorded a few songs but are \u201cjust kind of getting started in the process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Z3FVYHU5PBGRTLTOISVNBFWKX4\">The frontman expects the band to keep working on new music through February.
