Jason Kelce<\/a> is speaking out after receiving backlash for his recent comments about the World Series<\/a>.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n The retired NFL player, 38, shared a post on X<\/a> addressing the comments he made on his New Heights podcast<\/a> in which he questioned why he was supposed to be \u201cexcited about\u201d the World Series while suggesting that it was common knowledge that the Los Angeles Dodgers were going to win over the Toronto Blue Jays.\n<\/p>\n In a snippet of the podcast episode posted on X<\/a>, Jason and brother Travis Kelce<\/a> chatted about the World Series, and the former Philadelphia Eagles center asked, \u201cYou\u2019re telling me I\u2019m supposed to get excited about a Canadian baseball team and a team that spends more money than everybody else?\u201d\n<\/p>\n \u201cWho the f— cares about either?\u201d Jason continued. \u201cThat\u2019s why baseball sucks. You just buy World Series championships. It\u2019s the dumbest thing in the world.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Jason Kelce.<\/p>\n TheStewartofNY\/Getty<\/p>\n \u201cEverybody knew this was going to happen before the season,\u201d he continued. \u201cWe just had a bunch of meaningless s— happen before it and then it happened.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Jason concluded his rant, saying, \u201cSo, yeah, no, baseball\u2019s not getting my stamp.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Some baseball fans were upset by Jason’s remarks \u2014 especially those who backed the Blue Jays. One fan wrote in the comments section of the New Heights clip on X, \u201cWow. The \ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udde6 team comment? ONE player (one each team, btw) are Canadian.\u201d\n<\/p>\n \u201cI hate that way of thinking, and it actually really grosses me out,\u201d the fan continued. \u201cOur Blue Jays absolutely were incredible this season & do not deserve to be dismissed because they’re the 1 Canadian team. Gross, Jason.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Another said: \u201cHey! There\u2019s nothing wrong with a Canadian baseball team and they are the fourth or fifth highest in salary and nowhere near the Dodgers. Plus they were last place last year. They play with grit and heart every game, you would think an athlete would appreciate that.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Jason later addressed the feedback in a post on his X account<\/a> on Friday, Nov. 7, writing, \u201cGuys, I love Canada, I have been bamboozled by our social team that failed to show the whole story.\u201d\u00a0\n<\/p>\n \u201cHow could I not love poutine, maple syrup and beavers!! I was actually rooting for the Blue Jays in a World Series that I didn\u2019t care about. Seriously, Canada is the best, I was just talking s— about not being personally invested of caring that the team that spent the most money and built a super team won the World Series. That\u2019s it. I am a known Canada advocate and Ice Hockey lover,\u201d he added.\n<\/p>\n Jason is not the only one who has recently issued an apology related to the World Series.
