Russell Crowe is opening up about his weight loss journey.<\/p>\n

During a Nov. 5 appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” <\/a>podcast, Crowe, 61, revealed how much weight he lost since he finished shooting his war film “Nuremberg” a year ago. <\/p>\n

He shared that he was 126 kilograms, or 277 pounds, when filming wrapped, and he’s now 100.9 kilograms, or 222 pounds \u2014 a difference of about 55 pounds.<\/p>\n

Crowe credited his weight loss in part to injections and intravenous treatments he’s received for knee and shoulder injuries he’s had over the years.<\/p>\n

“It’s calmed down my body’s inflammation,” Crowe said on the podcast.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s calmed down a bunch of stuff and it\u2019s taken a bunch of pain away, so I can go and work out and not have to suffer for two or three hours afterwards,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The “Beautiful Mind” actor also said in the interview he doesn’t drink as much as he used to.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a big proponent for having a drink,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s my cultural heritage and as a working-class man, it\u2019s my goddamn right, Joe. But as you get older, there are certain things you start to learn about your capacities…”<\/p>\n

“Now that I\u2019m an older guy, I know that one night a week, if I\u2019m having fun, is plenty. I try to cut out the interstitial stuff,” he said.<\/p>\n

Crowe explained that he’ll sometimes have a “nice” glass of wine for dinner. As for casual drinks, he said that isn’t his thing anymore.<\/p>\n
