So over the past week or so, I\u2019ve been asking questions about what you, dear readers, look for in smartphones<\/a>, which iPhone 17 model you picked<\/a>, whether iPhones are overrated,<\/a> and so on. But it\u2019s just occurred to me that I haven\u2019t asked the most basic question: are you iPhone or Android?<\/p>\n

As you\u2019ll see on our list of the best phones<\/a> and our supporting lists of the best iPhones<\/a> and best Android phones<\/a>, the Phones team at TechRadar is open to great smartphones from both camps.<\/p>\n

But in general, a good few of us do use iPhones; for me, an iPhone 4S was my first smartphone until 2015, when I moved to Android, and then 2021, when I moved back to iPhone and have stayed there since.<\/p>\n

You may like<\/p>\n

However, I\u2019m curious about what phones you use. As a reader of TechRadar, I can assume you\u2019ll have a passing interest in consumer technology, or are even a die-hard tech fan. And conventional wisdom would say people who just want a good smartphone that does everything well and fuss-free will go for an iPhone, while folks who want to dive deeper into their phone and customize it to the core will opt for an Android phone.<\/p>\n

However, things have changed. Android phones now have a lot of the slick software DNA of iOS, while iPhones have started to open up a bit more. So it\u2019s hard for me to guess with a lot of confidence as to what phones TechRadar readers and visitors use.<\/p>\n
