MLB GMs will meet this week at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and the meetings come as baseball is \u201clikely to be facing labor unrest a year from now.\u201d In Boston, Peter Abraham wondered if the \u201ccoming storm\u201d will \u201caffect free agency this winter.\u201d Free agents \u201cmight want a large chunk of their salary in the form of a signing bonus to guard against missing paychecks in 2027.\u201d Teams could be \u201cwary of adding significantly to their payroll without knowing what the rules will be\u201d (BOSTON GLOBE, 11\/8<\/a>).
