Barstool Sports President Dave Portnoy\u00a0told CBS he is disgusted by the surge in antisemitic comments that have been hurled at him, with Portnoy saying he deals with it \u201cevery day now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Portnoy, during an interview with Tony Dokoupil, said he would \u201coccasionally\u201d deal with bigots hurling barbs in the past; that has turned into a daily occurrence now, he said, in a preview clip of his interview that was shared on Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s every day now. Like, there\u2019s a definitive shift in what\u2019s going on\u2026 for me, being a Jewish person you got to step up,\u201d Portnoy sid. \u201cYou\u2019re kind of someone people look up to in the Jewish community. You have to be like, alright, this is not normal.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added these are not just silly jokes among friends. \u201cPeople are coming in with real hate,\u201d Portnoy said.<\/p>\n
CBS noted the interview was recorded before Friday<\/a>, when a heckler shouted \u201cf*ck the Jews!\u201d and threw coins at Portnoy while he was recording one of his pizza review videos. You can see that incident below:<\/p>\n Portnoy has dealt with a few other notable antisemitic comments recently.<\/p>\n A Temple University student was suspended<\/a> in May after he had \u201cf*ck the Jews\u201d put on a customizable sign at a Barstool bar in Philadelphia.\u00a0The same slur was used yet again a month later during a pizza review in Toronto, when a man yelled \u201cf*ck the Jews\u201d<\/a> at Portnoy.<\/p>\n His comments to Dokoupil come as many online have debated the rise in antisemitism from both the left and the right.<\/p>\n And on Sunday, Sen.\u00a0James Lankford\u00a0(R-OK) denounced\u00a0Nick Fuentes\u00a0for \u201chateful rhetoric\u201d<\/a> that he says does not represent conservatives or Americans in any way during an appearance on\u00a0Meet the Press on Sunday morning. Fuentes has made a number of antisemitic comments over the years, including recently, when he said the conservative movement was being \u201cheld hostage by lunatic Israel-First Jews.\u201d<\/p>\n Portnoy\u2019s interview will air on Nov. 16 on CBS Sunday Morning.
