SAN FRANCISCO — Golden State Warriors<\/a> starStephen Curry<\/a>sat out his third straight game because of an illness, a 114-83 win<\/a> over the also shorthandedIndiana Pacers<\/a>on Sunday night, but is expected back for Tuesday’s game against theOklahoma City Thunder<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Curry came down with the illness after the Warriors’ recent trip to Indianapolis and Milwaukee. He played through it in a Tuesday night home win over the Phoenix Suns<\/a>but said his tank was on empty in the second half. Curry stayed home during the Warriors’ road losses at Sacramento on Wednesday and Denver on Friday.<\/p>\n

After four days of rest, Curry was initially deemed questionable against the Pacers, but Warriors coach Steve Kerr said before the game that the team’s medical staff opted to take a cautious approach and ruled out Curry. After the game, Kerr said the team expected Curry to be back for Tuesday’s game in Oklahoma City, which will kick off a five-city, six-game trip.<\/p>\n

The Warriors opened the season 4-1 but entered Sunday having lost four out of their past five games. Including the playoffs, Golden State had lost eight straight games without Curry but broke the streak Sunday against a Pacers team missing a chunk of its rotation. Pascal Siakam<\/a>, among others, was out after Indiana lost at Denver on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
