That means workout staples like squats, deadlifts and chest presses all fall into this category.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"e88cbe57-b6dc-4fdd-972f-442295a0dcf0-2\">Because these moves fire up lots of muscles, they\u2019re high-effort, more functional and help you burn more calories. I think it\u2019s very underappreciated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-how-to-do-a-plank-row\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/>How to do a plank row<\/p>\n<p id=\"299f4588-1bee-4a99-abef-439dfc015bc6\">Sets: 3 Reps: 4-6 each side<\/p>\n<p class=\"newsletter-form__strapline\">Start your week with achievable workout ideas, health tips and wellbeing advice in your inbox.<\/p>\n<p>Start on your hands and knees with a pair of moderately heavy hexagonal dumbbells on the floor underneath your shoulders.Hold the dumbbells and step your legs back into a high-plank position, so your body is in a straight line from your head to your heels.Keeping your body stable, lift one dumbbell to your rib cage.Pause briefly, then lower with control.Repeat on the other side.Continue, alternating sides with each rep.<a id=\"elk-form-tips\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/>Form tips<\/p>\n<p id=\"84f07aee-0e20-4791-b586-216fca1eb656\">Avoid rocking your hips from side to side when you row each dumbbell.
