{"id":283476,"date":"2025-11-10T15:49:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T15:49:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/283476\/"},"modified":"2025-11-10T15:49:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T15:49:06","slug":"6sense-founder-amanda-kahlow-raises-30-million-for-new-human-replacement-ai-sales-startup-1mind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/283476\/","title":{"rendered":"6Sense founder Amanda Kahlow raises $30 million for\u00a0new human-replacement\u00a0AI\u00a0sales startup\u00a01Mind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although LLM-powered AI agents are a\u00a0fairly new\u00a0phenomenon,\u00a0one\u00a0of the areas where they\u2019ve been most popular\u00a0so far\u00a0is\u00a0in sales.\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.1mind.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">1Mind,<\/a> a\u00a0startup co-founded by\u00a0Amanda\u00a0Kahlow,\u00a0has been quietly\u00a0shipping its sales agent, named Mindy, for about a year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Monday, the startup\u00a0announced a $30 million\u00a0Series A round led by Battery Ventures.\u00a0This brings 1Mind\u2019s total raise to $40 million, the company says.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kahlow is well known in the sales and marketing tech world as the founder\u00a0and former CEO\u00a0of 6Sense. It was\u00a0launched in 2013\u00a0as a lead-generation\u00a0tool that tracked signals\u00a0across social media and other sites to identify potential customers. She left\u00a0in\u00a02020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the sales agent market is already crowded, 1Mind, and its agent, named\u00a0Mindy,\u00a0aren\u2019t\u00a0doing\u00a0what most of them do: sending emails\u00a0and making cold\u00a0calls. That\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/tag\/ai-sdr\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">crowded market<\/a> where\u00a0even her\u00a0previous\u00a0firm, 6Sense,\u00a0offers agents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m not\u00a0playing in\u00a0outbound,\u201d\u00a0Kahlow tells TechCrunch.\u00a0Mindy is intended to handle inbound sales, going all the way to \u201cclosing the deal,\u201d\u00a0Kahlow\u00a0says.\u00a0This agent is used to\u00a0augment\u00a0self-service\u00a0websites and, Kahlow says, to\u00a0replace the\u00a0sales\u00a0engineer on calls\u00a0for larger enterprise deals. It can also be\u00a0the\u00a0onboarding\u00a0specialist, setting up new customers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur goal is to truly replicate the human experience across go-to-market when you have intent, when buyers are leaning in: they come to your website, or\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0in a zoom call. She can ride along and be the sales engineer,\u201d Kahlow adds, referring to Mindy with the anthropomorphic pronoun.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kahlow\u00a0even goes\u00a0so far as\u00a0to call her\u00a0AI agents \u201csuperhumans,\u201d though they are neither human nor do they\u00a0possess\u00a0comic-book-style\u00a0superhuman powers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Techcrunch event<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSan Francisco<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t|<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOctober 13-15, 2026\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each agent\u00a0can, however,\u00a0be trained to\u00a0understand an\u00a0expansive\u00a0knowledge base that encompasses\u00a0all of\u00a0a company\u2019s products, technical details,\u00a0competitive\u00a0positions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the startup uses a mix of underlying large-language models including OpenAI andG oogle Gemini, the agent limits hallucinations by using deterministic AI, both Kahlow and Mindy said (I invited the agent to our call). Deterministic AI provides guardrails so once the agent ingests corporate sales materials, it should recite that info without deviation. Beyond that, Mindy is trained to say she doesn\u2019t know an answer<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a year of operations under its belt,\u00a01Mind is\u00a0being used by more than 30 companies, including HubSpot, LinkedIn, and New Relic, to\u00a0pitch and\u00a0close deals.\u00a0Kahlow says that\u00a0her company\u2019s\u00a0entire roster of\u00a0named\u00a0customers all have annual contracts, not \u201cexperimental\u201d budgets, and the \u201caverage contract is six figures.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"382\" width=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Mindy-transparent.png\" alt=\"1Mind AI agent Mindy\" class=\"wp-image-3066197\"  \/>1Mind AI agent MindyImage Credits:1Mind<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company\u00a0also uses the bot internally\u00a0on its\u00a0own\u00a0sales\u00a0calls.\u00a0But\u00a0Kahlow\u00a0has gone\u00a0even\u00a0father. She created\u00a0an avatar of herself, Amanda, and took it with her to her VC pitches.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During Battery Ventures\u2019 due diligence, \u201cwe used it to go through the data room, asking lots of questions on things like case studies,\u201d Battery partner Neeraj Agrawal told TechCrunch about the avatar Amanda. The data room refers to the stacks of data a startup will share about itself with a VC. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe conversation design is very nuanced, like what case studies it shares and when,\u201d he said. The VC also determined that customers were having long back-and-forth conversations, indicating that they would forget they were talking to an AI.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That avatar\u00a0is still accessible via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/amandakahlow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Kahlow\u2019s LinkedIn page<\/a>,\u00a0where\u00a0the public can interact with it.
