{"id":283941,"date":"2025-11-10T21:01:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T21:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/283941\/"},"modified":"2025-11-10T21:01:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T21:01:06","slug":"broncos-lb-alex-singleton-has-surgery-for-testicular-cancer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/283941\/","title":{"rendered":"Broncos LB Alex Singleton has surgery for testicular cancer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nov 10, 2025, 02:38 PM ET<\/p>\n<p><a data-clubhouse-guid=\"51042145-e3c1-0694-ae0d-f720342ff8fc\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/team\/_\/name\/den\/denver-broncos\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Denver Broncos<\/a> linebacker <a data-player-guid=\"09bb1ac0-bc1d-dd2c-1148-c2bbb4e0f537\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/2612151\/alex-singleton\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Singleton<\/a> underwent surgery Friday for testicular cancer after being diagnosed last week, he announced Monday on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Singleton said he shared the news with his teammates and coaches before he shared the news publicly.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thankfully, we believe the cancer was caught early with a great prognosis for me and my family. While we are still awaiting some additional test results, I fully expect to return to the field in the coming weeks,&#8221; he <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/alexsingleton49\/status\/1987960243637416246\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">said in his statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I shared this news with our team this morning. <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m grateful for everyone&#8217;s support and can&#8217;t wait to get back on the field soon! <\/p>\n<p>Go Broncos! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6qge5tPirn\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/6qge5tPirn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Alex Singleton (@alexsingleton49) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alexsingleton49\/status\/1987960243637416246?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">November 10, 2025<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Singleton, 31, said he received notice &#8220;a little over two weeks ago&#8221; that he had elevated levels of the hormone hcG in his system following a random drug test. He said he knew the result was not due to &#8220;anything external&#8221; he might have taken, so after speaking with his wife, Sam, and agent, Paul Sheehy, he booked an appointment with a urologist, who on Monday determined he had signs of testicular cancer. That diagnosis was confirmed by an ultrasound from another doctor.<\/p>\n<p>Singleton played in the team&#8217;s victory over the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"b18540eb-6f2b-534c-e7f9-9bd930518da9\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/team\/_\/name\/lv\/las-vegas-raiders\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> last Thursday night, finishing with nine tackles (two solo).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I wrestled with sharing such personal information publicly.
