{"id":28572,"date":"2025-07-22T12:02:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-22T12:02:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/28572\/"},"modified":"2025-07-22T12:02:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-22T12:02:11","slug":"look-baby-raccoon-removed-from-engine-compartment-of-semi-truck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/28572\/","title":{"rendered":"Look: Baby raccoon removed from engine compartment of semi truck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>July 21 (UPI) &#8212; An animal services officer in Colorado came to the rescue of a baby raccoon found taking a nap in the engine compartment of a semi truck.<\/p>\n<p>The Arapahoe County Sheriff&#8217;s Office said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DMX7E1BsJsk\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">on social media<\/a> that an animal services officer was dispatched on a report of a baby raccoon in the engine compartment of a semi.\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The baby raccoon was sleeping (these guys are nocturnal) and wasn&#8217;t exactly happy about being woken up, but it eventually grabbed onto the catch pole and was pulled out safely and unharmed,&#8221; the post said.<\/p>\n<p>The raccoon was released back into the wild.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One month ago today, on June 21, the Sheriff&#8217;s Office assumed control of Animal Services from Arapahoe County.
