{"id":286330,"date":"2025-11-12T00:49:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-12T00:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/286330\/"},"modified":"2025-11-12T00:49:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T00:49:07","slug":"eagles-jaire-alexander-stepping-away-from-football-cb-to-determine-playing-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/286330\/","title":{"rendered":"Eagles&#8217; Jaire Alexander stepping away from football; CB to determine playing future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Philadelphia Eagles cornerback <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/players\/jaire-alexander\/\" title=\"Jaire Alexander\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jaire Alexander<\/a> is stepping away from football to get right physically and mentally, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The 28-year-old CB will then decide on his playing future after the break, per Garafolo.<\/p>\n<p>Fox Sports&#8217; Jay Glazer first reported the news.<\/p>\n<p>Alexander was acquired by the Eagles on <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/ravens-trade-cb-jaire-alexander-to-eagles-for-2026-sixth-round-pick\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nov. 1<\/a> in a trade with the Ravens that included a late-round pick swap.<\/p>\n<p>Before having a chance to suit up with his new team, the Eagles announced Alexander wouldn&#8217;t travel for their eventual Week 10 road win against the Green Bay Packers, listing him as out with knee\/coach&#8217;s decision.<\/p>\n<p>It was in Green Bay where Alexander spent his first seven seasons, earning two Pro Bowl trips and making a name for himself as one of the league&#8217;s top cover men.
