Oscar Isaac is ‘not so open to working with Disney’ after they suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/p>\n
Oscar Isaac is letting his feelings about Disney be known following their decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel Live! back in September.<\/p>\n
The 46-year-old actor<\/a> had previously expressed to Variety<\/a> in late August, ahead of the world premiere of Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein <\/a>at the Venice Film Festival, that he would consider returning as Poe Dameron for future Star Wars films. Oscar played handsome, hotshot X-wing fighter pilot in the Star Wars sequel trilogy from 2015 to 2019. I mean, I’d be open to it, although right now I’m not so open to working with Disney. But if they can kinda figure it out and, you know, not succumb to fascism, that would be great,” Oscar told the outlet in an interview published on Monday, November 10.<\/p>\n “If that happens, then yeah, I’d be open to having a conversation about a galaxy far away. Or any number of other things,” he added.<\/p>\n According to GQ, their interview with Oscar occurred two days after ABC and Disney suspended production on Jimmy Kimmel Live! because of remark Jimmy made about Charlie Kirk’s death.<\/p>\n Jimmy was suspended by ABC (which is owned by Disney) on September 17 following his opening monologue in the September 15 episode of his show, regarding the right-wing political commentator who was shot and killed on September 10.<\/p>\n The late-night host had said, the “MAGA gang” was “desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”<\/p>\n He further accused MAGA of “working very hard to capitalize on the murder.” Jimmy also played a clip about Donald Trump being asked by a reporter how he was “holding up” two days after Charlie’s shooting. Trump said he was doing “very good” and then shifted to discussing the subject of the construction of the upcoming White House State Ballroom.<\/p>\n “He’s at the fourth stage of grief: construction,” Jimmy said. “This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he calls a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish.”<\/p>\n Sinclair Broadcasting Group and Nexstar Media Group, both said they they would preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! following Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman Brendan Carr’s threat to take action against ABC if they didn’t drop Jimmy’s show after his comments.
