{"id":287374,"date":"2025-11-12T16:15:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-12T16:15:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/287374\/"},"modified":"2025-11-12T16:15:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T16:15:08","slug":"adele-to-make-acting-debut-in-tom-ford-directed-cry-to-heaven-movie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/287374\/","title":{"rendered":"Adele to Make Acting Debut in Tom Ford-Directed &#8216;Cry to Heaven&#8217; Movie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/tom-ford\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tom-ford_1\" data-tag=\"tom-ford\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tom Ford<\/a> has\u00a0a new film in the works, an adaptation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/anne-rice\/\" id=\"auto-tag_anne-rice_1\" data-tag=\"anne-rice\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anne Rice<\/a> novel Cry To Heaven that he will direct and produce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFord penned the screenplay and has a star-studded cast that includes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/adele\/\" id=\"auto-tag_adele_1\" data-tag=\"adele\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adele<\/a>, making her acting debut, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/nicholas-hoult\/\" id=\"auto-tag_nicholas-hoult_1\" data-tag=\"nicholas-hoult\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nicholas Hoult<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/aaron-taylor-johnson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_aaron-taylor-johnson_1\" data-tag=\"aaron-taylor-johnson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aaron Taylor-Johnson<\/a>, Ciar\u00e1n Hinds, George MacKay, Mark Strong, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/colin-firth\/\" id=\"auto-tag_colin-firth_1\" data-tag=\"colin-firth\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Colin Firth<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/paul-bettany\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paul-bettany_1\" data-tag=\"paul-bettany\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paul Bettany<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/owen-cooper\/\" id=\"auto-tag_owen-cooper_1\" data-tag=\"owen-cooper\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Owen Cooper<\/a>. Also on board the drama set in 18th century Italy are Daniel Quinn-Toye, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/hunter-schafer\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hunter-schafer_1\" data-tag=\"hunter-schafer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hunter Schafer<\/a>, Josephine Thiesen,\u00a0Thandiwe Newton,\u00a0Theodore Pellerin,\u00a0Daryl McCormack, Cassian Bilton, Hauk Hannenmann\u00a0and\u00a0Lux Pascal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tRice\u2019s 1982 Cry to Heaven novel centers on a Venetian noble and a maestro castrato, with both attempting to succeed in the opera world. Her novels have often been adapted as movies and TV series, including Interview With the Vampire, Mayfair Witches and Talamasca: The Secret Order.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tRice, who died in 2021 at the age of 80, during her writing career published over 40 novels and sold some 135 million copies, placing her among the most popular fantasy writers of all time. Rice adapted her first book, Interview With the Vampire, into the 1994 Warner Bros. movie starring\u00a0Tom Cruise\u00a0and\u00a0Brad Pitt, and six of her other novels, including\u00a0Exit to Eden\u00a0and\u00a0Queen of the Damned, were turned into movies or telefilms as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFord will produce the Cry to Heaven adaptation, unveiled at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/american-film-market\/\" id=\"auto-tag_american-film-market_1\" data-tag=\"american-film-market\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">American Film Market<\/a>, through his Fade To Black production banner. The adaptation is in preproduction in London and Rome and set for the cameras to roll starting in mid-January. An autumn 2026 release is scheduled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFord wrote, produced and directed his debut feature, A Single Man, which earned an Oscar nomination and also starred Colin Firth.
