{"id":288363,"date":"2025-11-13T03:35:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T03:35:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/288363\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T03:35:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T03:35:08","slug":"orange-iphones-are-the-new-black","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/288363\/","title":{"rendered":"Orange iPhones are the new black"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-fiuwhu\">Typically when consumers shell out for a new <a class=\"inline-stock css-1iix00n\" href=\"https:\/\/robinhood.com\/us\/en\/stocks\/AAPL\/?source=sherwood\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Apple<\/a> iPhone, their preferred color is black or something close to it, according to data from <a href=\"https:\/\/cirpapple.substack.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"css-uubm0\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Consumer Intelligence Research Partners<\/a> (CIRP), which has been asking iPhone buyers about their purchases for years. <\/p>\n<p class=\"css-fiuwhu\">But the latest iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, which early data shows are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/10\/20\/iphone-17-lineup-sales-outperforming-iphone-16\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"css-uubm0\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">selling at a faster clip than previous years<\/a>, come in only three colors: Silver, Deep Blue, and Cosmic Orange. And so far, orange has proven to be the most popular choice for the most expensive iPhones, with 40% of purchasers opting for it, over the more staid blue and silver.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-fiuwhu\">Why?<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-fiuwhu\">CIRP partner and cofounder Michael Levin told Sherwood News it could be cultural or a novelty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-fiuwhu\">\u201cIf you kind of want to stand out with your new phone, then you pick that one,\u201d Levin said, referring to Cosmic Orange. Or, as he and CIRP partner and cofounder Josh Lowitz wrote, \u201cPerhaps premium iPhone buyers want to show that they have the newest model with its most distinctive color.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"css-fiuwhu\">Apple didn\u2019t immediately respond to a request for comment on this very important topic. <\/p>\n<p class=\"css-fiuwhu\">Notably, this isn\u2019t the first time the iPhone Pro or Pro Max sold well in unlikely colors, CIRP found. In 2022, the Deep Purple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max led the way, even when a black phone was available.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-fiuwhu\">Is it wise to make such a big purchase in a color that may fade with fashion whims? Who knows.
