A major recall has been issued for nearly 1 million bottles of prosecco sold at Costco that pose a laceration hazard.<\/p>\n
On Nov. 6, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced<\/a> a recall of certain Ethica Wines\u2019 Kirkland Signature Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG glass bottles.<\/p>\n The company has received ten reports of the bottles shattering or breaking, resulting in one laceration injury.<\/p>\n In a statement, the federal agency said the recall affects about 941,400 bottles and can be recognized by its green bottle with purple foil and a purple label. The prosecco bottles UPC is 196633883742 and the Costco Item Number is 1879870. <\/p>\n The recalled bottles were sold for around $8 between April and August 2025 at Costco stores in 12 states:<\/p>\n IowaIllinoisIndianaKentuckyMichiganMinnesotaMissouriNebraskaNorth DakotaOhioSouth DakotaWisconsin<\/p>\n The affected prosecco was also available for sale online. <\/p>\n The CPSC urged consumers to immediately stop using the recalled bottles and not attempt to open them.
