iOS 26.2 is coming next month<\/a> with exciting updates for Reminders<\/a>, Apple Music<\/a>, Podcasts<\/a>, and more. It\u2019s also been discovered that a recent CarPlay addition, widgets<\/a>, is getting even better in iOS 26.2\u2014but it all depends on your vehicle.<\/p>\n

Earlier this fall, Apple launched its biggest CarPlay update in years with iOS 26.<\/p>\n

Among the release\u2019s many new features<\/a>, one welcome addition is iPhone-style widgets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Depending on your vehicle\u2019s infotainment screen size, you likely will see either one or two widgets on-screen at once.<\/p>\n

But in iOS 26.2, Apple seems to be expanding the number of widget stacks available\u2014at least for some vehicles.<\/p>\n

Tom Warren of The Verge posted on X<\/a> that his vehicle previously showed two widgets, but in iOS 26.2 it now shows three.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear how many vehicles will get expanded widget stacks in iOS 26.2. <\/p>\n

Apple has no official documentation around which vehicles can show more widgets than others. All it says is the following<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Note:\u00a0The number of widget stacks you see depends on your vehicle\u2019s CarPlay screen.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, it\u2019s great to see Apple making better use of precious screen real estate in iOS 26.2. <\/p>\n

Here\u2019s hoping we see this expansion roll out to a wide array of vehicles before iOS 26.2 officially launches<\/a>.<\/p>\n
