Things took an unexpected turn on Fox News<\/a> Friday, as the network cut away from a story on affordability in the country to break news on chaos erupting during protests at a Chicago Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility.<\/p>\n

The breaking news came as Harris Faulkner discussed a story about prices in the U.S. and the Trump administration’s plans to make products more affordable on an episode of Faulkner Focus.<\/p>\n

However, she was forced to cut away as news broke that protests at the Broadview facility in Illinois<\/a> were getting out of control and resulting in arrests, not long after the president called for National Guard troops to be deployed to the area.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a wild scene outside of an illegal immigrant processing center in Broadview, Illinois,\u201d Faulkner, 60, said. \u201cYou know, on Fridays, this gets hot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noting things could turn \u201cdangerous,\u201d she then cut straight to Fox reporter Garrett Tenney, who was at the scene, as protestors were arrested and clashes between the crowd and the police appeared to grow more tense.<\/p>\n

Tenney then shared that at least \u201ca half dozen people\u201d had been arrested at the regular protest, which occurs weekly, stating that in the last 15 minutes, those in the crowd of hundreds had breached a line that kept them off a roadway where they weren\u2019t allowed to stand.<\/p>\n

\u201cTension certainly getting up here high over these last 10 or so minutes,\u201d Tenney said.<\/p>\n

Faulkner, in the studio, then chimed in with more questions, pointing that Chicago was a Sanctuary city in a Sanctuary state, and asked about the larger crowd size than had been seen in the past.<\/p>\n

As Tenney continued to report from the scene, protestors could be seen being detained by law enforcement, and tensions continued to escalate with physical confrontations occurring between officers and protestors as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ICE agents are getting pushed back, Garrett, they\u2019re outnumbered as you said,\u201d Faulkner pointed out.<\/p>\n

She then broke away to talk about the situation with former acting ICE director Jonathan Fahey, before going back to Tenney, who shared that it was believed paid agitators had been in the crowd.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou always get that where you get these large kinds of protests,\u201d he said. \u201cIt has been consistent, going back several months, federal agents have pointed out to us that there is a small handful of what they call paid agitators that are mixed in here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmong these protestors to agitate this crowd to provoke some kind of response from law enforcement that has been consistent over the past few months, and you see that playing out again here this morning.\u201d<\/p>\n

At least 10 people were arrested at the facility after protestors attempted to block access and confront law enforcement, officials said.<\/p>\n
