\u201cThe View\u201d co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin<\/a> questioned Friday whether New York City Mayor-elect\u00a0Zohran Mamdani<\/a>\u00a0has the necessary experience to lead America\u2019s most populous city, predicting that because of his inexperience, Mamdani would encounter \u201croadblocks\u201d while trying to implement his ambitious policy initiatives.<\/p>\n

Co-host Joy Behar<\/a> opened the segment by mentioning that Mamdani had consulted three Democratic governors \u2014 Josh Shapiro<\/a> of Pennsylvania,\u00a0JB Pritzker<\/a>\u00a0of Illinois and Wes Moore<\/a> of Maryland \u2014 to seek advice on \u201ctaking a stand against Trump\u2019s threats with immigration raids and National Guard<\/a> deployments.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking about fellow Democrats observing how Mamdani\u2019s time in office goes, Griffin said, \u201cIf it\u2019s more what I expect, that he runs into a lot of roadblocks, realizes that Albany controls most of New York City. The mayor actually has a very limited ability to affect major policy changes. I would think that Democrats would be much wiser to look to the moderates who won.\u201d<\/p>\n

The co-host argued that Democratic leadership would be looking to see how Mamdani\u2019s first year in office went to gauge whether the party should embrace the mayor-elect\u2019s democratic socialist ideology, or if it should continue to run moderate candidates like Shapiro and newly elected Gov. Mikie Sheril<\/a>l, D-N.J.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the segment, Griffin pointed to Mamdani\u2019s \u201cthinness of experience\u201d and her ideological opposition to him as reasons she\u2019s concerned about his ability to run New York City. <\/p>\n

She added that someone who\u2019s \u201cnever had a job in the business field or managing a large economy\u201d may have trouble managing an economy \u201cthe size of Canada.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another concern expressed by Griffin was whether Mamdani is prepared to take on President\u00a0Donald Trump, whom he taunted during his victory speech.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy cynical side was, literally at your victory speech, you said, basically, \u2018Come at me, Donald Trump<\/a>.\u2019 But then you made the call for advice on how you were going to take on one of the most powerful administrations in American history after you were elected to office,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n

The panel discussed Mamdani consulting with Democratic governors like Shapiro, Pritzker and Moore and seemed to agree it was a smart move for the new mayor-elect to seek advice from these \u201cDemocratic avengers.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s very smart for him to reach out to three spectacular governors, chief executive officers of their states. Each brings something to the table. For anybody who is starting any job where you don\u2019t have that much experience, seek mentorship from people who are doing it well,\u201d co-host Ana Navarro said.<\/p>\n

\"AlyssaGriffin said he could suffer \u201croadblocks\u201d while trying to implement his policies in the Big Apple. ABC<\/p>\n

Navarro added that she loves the fact that two of the governors that Mamdani has reached out to \u2014 Shapiro and Pritzker \u2014 are Jewish.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause outside of Israel, this is the city where there is the most Jews in the world, and he\u2019s got an issue with that that he needs to address,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

Co-host Sara Haines<\/a> noted that Mamdani\u2019s phone call with Pritzker, a vocal opponent of Trump, was to discuss \u201chow to combat or prepare for this administration that Donald Trump is leading.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

She also expressed concern over the 34-year-old mayor-elect\u2019s lack of experience, adding that she hoped Mamdani was seeking guidance from more seasoned Democratic leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a young guy, and I think the concern was his only job outside of college is he volunteered for campaigns and done some stuff for foreclosures and has been serving in a district of 120,000 people. He\u2019s now going to run a city of 8 million.
