The 23-year-old battled through multiple injuries throughout the season, but it was a right groin strain that led to the Fever deciding to shut her down for the rest of the campaign in September. Clark played just 13 games in her second season, averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.2 triples.

One of the players who had to step up for the Fever amid Clark’s absence was three-time All-Star Aliyah Boston. Alongside Kelsey Mitchell, Boston was the driving force for Indiana as the team faced a full-blown injury crisis in the latter part of the season. Apart from Clark, the Fever also lost Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald and Chloe Bibby to season-ending injuries.

Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston stands on the court against the Golden State Valkyries.Darren Yamashita-Imagn Images

On Thursday, Boston reached out to Clark after the latter’s offseason move away from basketball. Clark participated in the pro-am that preceded THE ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican Golf Club on Wednesday. This was the former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar’s second consecutive year joining the event, and she even brought Fever teammates Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull with her as special caddies.

Clark took to Instagram to share some photos from the event, which prompted a request from Boston.

“Wow you’re really cool please teach me,” Boston commented.

Clark is a whiz on the basketball court, but she’s not bad on the golf course, too. She made waves in the pro-am event preceding the LPGA tournament, demonstrating how she excels as a multisport athlete. Boston is now hoping for a golf lesson from her Fever teammate, albeit with a bit of friendly banter to her tone.

Fever veteran Natasha Howard joined in on the fun. She, too, requested a golf lesson from the former Rookie of the Year.

“You got to teach me slim 1on1 tutor,” Howard wrote.

Howard, the reigning WNBA Commissioner’s Cup MVP, is no longer under contract with the Fever. She will become an unrestricted free agent once the window officially opens on Feb. 1.

Clark and Boston, on the other hand, are two out of just three players who are guaranteed to return to Indiana for 2026, along with rookie Makayla Timpson. The front office will need to negotiate new deals for the rest of the roster.

Related: Big News Sparks Congratulations for Indiana Fever Coach

This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Nov 14, 2025, where it first appeared in the WNBA section.
