Instead, you want to focus on the ones that deliver the most bang for your buck. That\u2019s exactly what Strength Coach and Physical Therapist, Jeff Cavaliere, breaks down in a recent Instagram post.<\/p>\n<p>He ranks some of the most popular chest exercises from best to worst, and you may be surprised that not only does the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.t3.com\/features\/bench-press-how-to\" target=\"_blank\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.t3.com\/features\/bench-press-how-to\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">bench press<\/a> not come out on top, it\u2019s not even in his roundup of exercises. We know, mind-blowing!<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"72d0cc2e-4cc4-4f07-9183-a2c688e1151f-2\">He uses seven tiers to categorise the exercises into different tiers \u2013 S, A, B, C, D, F \u2013 \u2018S\u2019 being the \u2018best\u2019 and \u2018F\u2019 being the \u2018worst. Although, he does write on his post: \u201cEveryone\u2019s selections may be different.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You may like<\/p>\n<p>At the bottom of the rankings is the plate squeeze. \u201cOne plate, wrong angle, no pay-off, nothing to see here,\u201d Cavaliere says. Ouch! This is closely followed by the dumbbell flye which, may surprise you, as this was a staple in Arnold Schwarzenegger&#8217;s routine, and we can all agree he had a great chest.
