\n\tTate was not listed on Ohio State\u2019s pregame status report for the Purdue game, but was held out of the game for precautionary reasons after experiencing lower-leg tightness during warmups.\u00a0Ryan Day said after the game that Tate \u201cprobably\u201d could have played, but the Buckeyes \u201cwanted to be really careful.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n\tIt\u2019s unclear what Smith\u2019s injury is, as he played the entire game against Purdue and caught\u00a0a career-high 10 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tIf Smith doesn\u2019t play, Ohio State will have to rely on the likes of Brandon Inniss, Bryson Rodgers, Mylan Graham and Quincy Porter to lead their receiving corps against UCLA. None of them have more than 180 receiving yards this season (Inniss), though the injuries at wideout could also open up more pass-catching opportunities for Max Klare and the rest of Ohio State\u2019s tight ends.\n<\/p>\n
