Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte said he lost $400,000 worth of items in a break-in at his Phoenix-area home<\/a> during All-Star Game festivities.<\/p>\n

Marte found out about the burglary last Tuesday before the All-Star Game; he went on the restricted list Friday<\/a> and was reinstated Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone is clear that it\u2019s not a situation that we can feel good about. I\u2019m losing about $400,000, and I think that\u2019s a lot,\u201d Marte told reporters in Spanish after Sunday\u2019s 5-3 win against the St. Louis Cardinals.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a bit of a tough situation, but we came back here to try not to think about those things that have happened. It doesn\u2019t feel good. Everyone knows what happened. And we\u2019re hoping that things are remedied.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police last week said that no one was home at the time of the break-in and that there were signs of forced entry at Marte\u2019s Paradise Valley, Ariz., house. Police said that numerous personal items and jewelry were missing.<\/p>\n

The Scottsdale Police Department said there were no new updates.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is still an active investigation that our detectives are actively working on,\u201d a spokesperson said in a statement Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The break-in is the latest in a string of burglaries targeting professional athletes, particularly when those athletes are away competing. Other recent burglaries include the NBA\u2019s Mike Conley Jr., Karl-Anthony Towns, Luka Don\u010di\u0107 and Bobby Portis, the NFL\u2019s Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Joe Burrow and Linval Joseph and the NHL\u2019s Tyler Seguin and Evgeni Malkin.<\/p>\n
