\n\tMelissa McCarthy<\/a> is returning to host \u201cSaturday Night Live<\/a>\u201d this December. <\/p>\n

\n\tIt was revealed during this week\u2019s episode that McCarthy will host the NBC sketch comedy series with musical guest Dijon on Dec. 6. It will be McCarthy\u2019s sixth time hosting, and her first time leading the show since 2017. She has also appeared on the show multiple times as former Trump press secretary Sean Spicer among other cameo appearances.<\/p>\n

\n\tMcCarthy has received six Emmy nominations for her work on \u201cSNL,\u201d including winning the award for best guest actress in a comedy series for the show in 2017. <\/p>\n

\n\tDijon will be making his \u201cSNL\u201d debut with his appearance on the Dec. 6 episode. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSNL\u201d recently turned the page on its historic 50th season, which was commemorated with a Peacock documentary series and a three-hour special joined by a myriad of former cast members and A-list guests. Bad Bunny kicked off Season 51 in October with musical guest Doja Cat. Amy Poehler, Sabrina Carpenter, Miles Teller, Nikki Glaser and Glen Powell followed as hosts.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe iconic late-night sketch said goodbye to several cast members heading into Season 51, including Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, Devon Walker and Michael Longfellow. This season, \u201cSNL\u201d also welcomed Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson and Veronika Slowikowska to the cast.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSNL\u201d earned seven nominations at the 2025 Emmy Awards. It\u2019s spinoffs, such as \u201cThe Anniversary Celebration,\u201d \u201cSNL50: The Homecoming Concert,\u201d \u201cBeyond Saturday Night\u201d and \u201c50 Years of SNL Music,\u201d also scored 23 nominations in total.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Melissa McCarthy is returning to host \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d this December.
