While Estonia doesn’t border Ukraine, and is in fact about three countries above it, Estonia shares a border with Russia. And Russia instigated a conflict with Ukraine back in 2022, invading Ukraine from Belarus, the Crimean peninsula, and as well as Russia itself. However, Belarus is a member of the Eastern Partnership, alongside Estonia and Ukraine, breaking a union and causing high tensions. On top of the fact that the Crimean peninsula is a part of Ukraine and long has been recognised as a part of Ukraine, Russia has occupied the peninsula for over a decade now.<\/p>\n
So, naturally, when someone post-2014 supports what is occurring in Crimea, they’re not all countries take kindly to the mockery of the union and allyship between the Eastern European countries, as many of them share the same aggressor.<\/p>\n
As such, Estonia has cancelled Limp Bizkit’s performance in Tallinn in May 2026 due to what their ministry media advisor Brita Kikkas says was commentary that diminishes Ukraine’s legitimacy as a nation despite the ongoing conflict. “Estonia supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the principle that every last centimeter of Ukrainian territory belongs to Ukraine,” ERR News reports<\/a>. And that those who support an aggressor do not belong “in Estonia or in the Estonian cultural space.”<\/p>\n “My position is clear, and I will repeat it: Russia is the aggressor, and Crimea is occupied by Russia. Those who justify Russia’s aggression and the occupation of a neighboring country are not welcome in Estonia. They have no place on Estonian stages and should not be earning income here.”<\/p>\n The commentary that diminished Ukraine’s legitimacy stems from the 2014\/2015, when Fred Durst held up a sign on stage<\/a> that read “Crimea=Russia,” and later called Vladimir Putin a “great guy with clear moral principles and a nice person,” all while he was married to Russian but Crimean-born Kseniya Beryazina. Ukraine had banned Durst for five years<\/a> after flying that flag.<\/p>\n Despite Limp Bizkit announcing on November 7th that they were due to perform in Estonia’s Tallinn on May 31st, 2026, with tickets going on sale this coming Monday, the plug was pulled and announced by the Baltic Live Agency’s quick update on Facebook, saying:<\/p>\n “We inform you that due to circumstances beyond the organizer’s control, the Limp Bizkit concert planned for May 31, 2026, is canceled.
