Avon \u2013 Topgolf in Avon has been open for two months and the response from the community has been simply overwhelming, said staffers. The sprawling facility boasting two levels of golf with a full kitchen, bar, patio, private party space and a simply breathtaking view of targets is happy to be making its home in Avon along Chester Road.<\/p>\n

The space opened September 19 to much fanfare and is the fifth Topgolf in Ohio. It is the 111th such facility nationwide and the second youngest. The Avon location employs approximately 200 folks who range in jobs from restaurant, kitchen, administrative, maintenance and general guest services.<\/p>\n

Entering the space, guests are greeted by a host before turning to their left to enter the enormous main room featuring a fully stocked bar with multiple beers on tap, as well as a large selection of wine and spirits. A full menu of fun grub is available that includes sandwiches, flatbreads, wings and burgers, along with a full allotment of appetizers and salads.<\/p>\n

A massive, 22-foot television behind the bar broadcasts various sporting events, typically golf, and can even be split into four large screens. <\/p>\n

But what Topgolf aims to bring is family, fun entertainment that is affordable for most, says Avon director of operations Kevin Brown. He likens the activity to basically golf \u201cbowling,\u201d with similar pod set ups and automatic scoring featuring a number of games and even a variety of virtual courses. <\/p>\n

The location also offers coaching and training sessions for the weekend warriors looking to up their game. <\/p>\n

Brown stresses, however, that Topgolf is entertainment for all ages and skill levels where folks can enjoy the sport in a relaxed, no-pressure, fun environment with family, friends and colleagues. The even have an exclusive club called The Sure Thing that is designed to make the game a little easier for beginners. <\/p>\n

Topgolf Avon features 64 outdoor climate-controlled hitting bays spanning two levels. Brown said the outdoor bays allow for play almost 365 days a year, although certain Northern Ohio days simply aren\u2019t conductive. The venue is equipped with Toptracer technology, which traces each golf ball\u2019s flight path, distance and other nifty metrics for the golf enthusiast.<\/p>\n

And, there is also a private section for business meetings, private parties or events for folks to rent out. It features playing bays, seating and can be integrated for presentations.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt really is a fun atmosphere,\u201d Brown said. \u201cIt\u2019s a great place to work and it\u2019s a great place for folks to take some time and come together and enjoy something fun and memorable. And so far, Avon and the surrounding communities have really welcomed us to the neighborhood, which just continues to grow. We enjoy being here. It\u2019s wonderful to work in a position where you just get to see smiles and laughter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown said the Topgolf makes for a great holiday gift and makes for the perfect office party. Reservations can be made online, but most days, folks are able to show up when they wish and play a round. Golf is half off Mondays through Thursdays.<\/p>\n
