Simpson<\/a>&#8216;s estate has agreed to pay the family of Ron Goldman $58 million, ABC News has learned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">According to court documents, the estate executor has accepted the family&#8217;s claim.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The Goldmans originally asked for $117 million. The claim was filed in February 2021.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">It&#8217;s unclear how much the estate will be able to raise by selling off assets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Simpson was acquitted of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Goldman, but was found liable in civil court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The Goldmans apparently only received a fraction of the $33 million judgment they were awarded in the civil trial.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Simpson <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/post\/orenthal-james-simpson-oj-dead-cancer\/14646553\/?userab=abc_web_player-460*variant_a_abc_control-1900\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">died in April of last year.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The Goldman family released the following statement:<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">&#8220;The Executor&#8217;s acceptance of the claim is a positive acknowledgement of the debt; however, it does not constitute payment. This acceptance simply allows the administration of the claim to move forward in probate.
