\"Black <\/a>Black Stars squad honored teammates for winning awards<\/p>\n

Three <\/a>Black Stars<\/a> players who distinguished themselves have been honored by the technical team and their teammates ahead of the international friendly game against South Korea.<\/p>\n

After the team completed their final training session of the day, the technical team and players gathered, where head coach <\/a>Otto Addo<\/a> commended Benjamin Asare, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Caleb Yirenkyi for their respective achievement.<\/p>\n

Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare was awarded the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Home-Based Footballer of the Year 2026.<\/p>\n

Thomas-Asante also won the Professional Footballers\u2019 Association (PFA) Fans\u2019 Player of the Month award in the English Championship for October.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Caleb Yirenkyi won the Danish Superliga Young Player of the Month award for September following his impressive performances with FC Nordsjaelland.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, <\/a>Otto Addo<\/a> stated that the players\u2019 awards needed to be celebrated within the squad to encourage others to give their best.<\/p>\n

The entire squad lined up as the three players walked through, receiving congratulatory touches from their teammates.<\/p>\n

This comes as the <\/a>Black Stars<\/a> prepare to face South Korea in an international friendly match on September 18, 2025, as they look forward to securing a decent result to make up for their 2-0 defeat against Japan earlier in the 2025 Kirin Challenge Cup.<\/p>\n
